Kieran raced through the forest without looking back, his golden locks flying behind him. He could not dare to do such as he knew what was at stake. Who knows, he might only get frightened if he notices that they're catching up. Then what? He'd stumble and fall. Then what? He'd get caught and all his efforts would be wasted.
Kieran was currently being chased by warriors of Aerion, a powerful clan. He just committed a great offence in the land. He got into the palace disguised as King Ryan's tailor's apprentice. He has accomplished his initial mission but too bad for him, he made a slip while making his escape. Now, he was on the run with the warriors on his heels.
"Why won't you just leave me alone?" Kieran called out to the warriors whom he knew were close-by. He did not slow down, though. "I didn't do anything wrong. I'm just a tailor's apprentice", he scoffed, a note of sarcasm rooted in his words.
He jumped over the stump of a tree and dodged a swinging branch. He did not even pause to examine his surroundings, to admire the sturdy trees that were arranged in an orderly manner. He did not care to listen to the sounds of nature that surrounded him; insects chirping, birds tweeting, a wood pecker making the drilling noise, the squirrels scurrying on the dry leaves. He only kept running with one thing in mind; to escape from the literal wolfhounds.
