Pick your Poison-Chapter 26: If looks could kill
Chapter 26: If looks could kill
Dino

"Guess you was right after all Dean," Caleb sipped from a glass of wine, "A bunch of protestors are gathering out in front of the property." He was usually never wrong but it did not take a genius to figure out that this party was not going down without some fight. There were bound to be disruptions which was why it was the perfect event to act out their plan.

"But security is tight Dean." "Yeah I caught that and they armed. But once the bombs go off, security will lose control, the crowd will disperse and we can enter." Hence, the only reason he was here.

In what world would Dino actually attend a boring ass business shit hosted by the enemy? It was definitely not for the expensive wine or the chitchat. He was here for one thing and one thing only: Revenge. And well, for Meera.

They hadn't spoken to each other throughout the evening; she, too busy entertaining daddy's guests and he, too proud to chase. Meera was the outstanding one though, catching everyones' attention as she walked past them.

"Zie's in her room. I'm gonna chill there...you know what to do man." "Yeah, I'm not it." Try and get the other sister alone and away from the crowd. Dino followed her movements and landed on another table of people.

Once Caleb had left and things began to settle down, Dino contacted his boys via their earpieces. Yes, they came prepared. He moved to a quieter corner of the house, where media could not reach him. The only one without an earpiece was Caleb since he couldn't risk Ziesha seeing it. They had enough problems already.

"Everything set?" He checked with Ryan, the second in charge after him. "All good. Midnight." "Midnight yeah but stay close." Anything could happen. This place was loaded with armed security and freaking cameras. "Don't leave the van without your masks." The van that they hired was parked a few yards away from the house, out of sight yet visible to his boys. "We here Dean. Just keep us updated."

"Can't we use codenames for each other." That was Dennis' voice. Dino breathed in annoyance. Now was not the time for fun and games. "I was thinking like animal names like Dean can be Tiger. Suits him and I can be the Panther."

"Dude, shut up." Pete read Dino's mind. "What? It's fun...you guys are just calling each other by your names. Where's the logic in that? It's an undercover mission."

"Den, quit playing," Dino took over now, "This shit is dangerous. I mean it!" "Yeah I know, that is why Ryan has your gun with him. I get it. I am serious, just tryna fun things up a bit." That was the reason why Dino had been hesitant to let Dennis into the mission. He was still a kid, had a lot to learn and was the most vulnerable of them at being attacked.

"Ryan, watch out for him. And make sure not to plant the bombs to close to the property. No one needs to get hurt...the gun is just for safety to save your asses in case. Don't use it." "We got this Dean."

Yeah they did. They were ready for action. The plan was smart, tough as fuck. Guns, bombs, earpieces with fancy wine were not usually his thing. Street fighter speaking, Dino always preferred a fight-or-die battle. This shit was way off his league. But because time had been a major downfall, they didn't have much time to re-think and re-evaluate their game plan. It was now or never, win or lose. Live or die.

His jeans pocket which contained his cellphone, along with other necessary things needed for tonight, vibrated. Pulling it out, Dino once again made sure that he was invisible to media freaks before focusing his attention to the small device in his hand.

One new text message. He hadn't even opened the message yet found himself smiling like an idiot. Dino...
