Excel- Table Hacks
It's easy to understand the data when it is presented nicely. Going through paragraphs is quite boring. Well, excel will not disappoint you when it comes to presenting your data. And the most useful tool for this is Table. So present your data using tables will not just make it look good but also give you different options like sort & filter, removing duplicates, using different formulas etc.

As in the image you can see I have presented my data in a colourful table which makes it look interesting.

How to convert simple data into a table:
Go to the insert tab. In the Tables group, you will find the Table option. Click on it. And if your table has headings then tick the checkbox 'My table has headers'. And you are done with your table.

Instead of this long process, you can also use the shortcut option to insert a table which is Control+T.

However, if you want to reconvert your data from table to simple range just go to Design tab then Tools group and click on Convert to range option.

Benefits of using table:
1. Data looks more presentable and attractive.
2. Automatically filters are inserted in the first row which helps you in filtering the data.
3. Opens you to use other advanced features like Slicer, Power Query.
4. Table design tab becomes visible in the ribbon only when you have inserted a table.
5. Also you can use different colours to make your table more interesting.

Use of Slicer in a table:
Well, Slicer is a virtual filter option. You can use this as an additional filter after converting your data into a table. Although in the heading filter option is there. But slicer gives you a bonus and an easy way to filter. In the picture, you can see a small box with a heading region. I have inserted this using slicer. You will find this option under the Insert tab in the filters group.

Use of Power Query in a table:
Well, I am also yet exploring this function. It is basically a data analysis tool. You will find this option under the Data tab in Get and Transform group with the name of "FROM TABLE". One more thing this feature is added from MS-Excel 2016 and above.

Power query option helps in analysing the data in an advanced way. Definitely, I will be uploading another article with more details for this tool. Till then enjoy reading my articles and learn excel to achieve excellence.
