A life poem for my mom.... a lesson to learn

Today, I want to share a heartfelt poem that I wrote about a life-changing experience. It all started on a day like no other, when I heard these words that shook me to my core: "I have to leave you." The cold wind outside seemed to mirror the storm brewing within my heart.

But then, tragedy struck, and my world was shattered. My dear mom passed away, leaving me with an overwhelming emptiness. Yet, amidst the pain, I saw something beautiful – she seemed so peaceful, as if she had found solace in the heavens above.
Years have passed since that fateful day, and yet that empty feeling persists deep within me. Whenever I close my eyes, all I see is red, a constant reminder of the pain I've endured. But now, I realize that it's time for me to rise from the depths of despair, to break free from the confines of my bed, and embrace life once more.

Reflecting on memories of you, mom, I realize that there was something left unsaid. I failed to express just how much I love you. I can only speak for myself, but I believe many of us often forget to express our love and gratitude for those who mean the world to us. It's a lesson I've learned the hard way.

Life is a fragile gift, fleeting and unpredictable. We must cherish every moment we have, for we never know when it may be our last. So, I implore each and every one of you to take a moment today, reach out to those you hold dear, and express your love, gratitude, and appreciation. Don't wait until it's too late.

Through writing these words, I hope to inspire someone out there to stop and reflect. Don't let the busyness of life overshadow the importance of the people who have shaped you, loved you, and stood by your side. Let them know what they mean to you before it's too late.

Mom, I carry your memory in my heart every day. Your passing has taught me the value of love, the significance of gratitude, and the urgency to live life to its fullest. Thank you for the lessons you taught me, even in your absence.

Let's honor the lessons our loved ones have taught us and make the most of the time we have together. Share this message with someone who needs a reminder, and let's spread love and appreciation in our lives.

With love and gratitude your son Ronald Nathaniel Parker
