ARANYA VAAS—THE FORGOTTEN TOWN, Part-4
On the way to the house of Headman, we noticed earthen pots and utensils everywhere. The architecture of the houses seemed long forgotten. Plinth were made of local stone but the upper structure of houses was made of cedar wood. The carvings were quite similar to those of a millennium old temples, located at Chamba town. The dresses worn by men, women and children were of bygone era. Something we had seen exhibited in Bhuri Singh Museum at Chamba.

We saw an open air school, more of a Vedic Ashram where children were being taught subjects like vedic jyotish (astrology), maths , vyakaran ( grammar) etc. in Sanskrit medium. People were making ropes from the branches of a particular...
