she turned around to see that familiar voice.
it was Greg. panting after running behind her.

"hey-y, please lily. listen me out. i'm sorry I lied. sh-she is my daughter. i didn't want to cheat you. i wanted to tell you all this time. in fact, i thought today was the day to tell you everything about me and my past. but, turns out i deserved a punishment for lying you."
said Greg breathlessly.

"sure you do Greg! i saw a future with you. a happy marriage. 2 kids and a wonderful retirement. i planned too much i guess. i went ahead of myself for which i'm sorry to myself." said lily angrily. " i don't want to see you again, hope that is understood."

lily keeps walking away.

Greg's phone rings (buzz buzz buzz)

he lift the call and says;
"hello? who's this?"
a silence of 1 minute is broken with a yell,
"WHATT??? which hospital? I'm coming right away!"

Greg is in tears. crying how foolish of him to leave maya alone at the restaurant.
lily walked back and asked what happened.

"let's go right now! you should not have left her alone Greg! oh god, what has happened?!"
said lily weeping.

[scene at the hospital]

Greg and Lily are waiting. holding hands and praying.
4 days past that saturday. they're still at the hospital.
unknown of what is maya going through and how's she been doing.

[present day]

Lily enters the theatre. maya is lying down. tired, exhausted and scared.
she held onto to her dad, Greg, and cried her eyes out.
Lily stood there silently. watching both of them, dad and daughter, with a relieved smile on her face.

"Greg, can i be Maya's mother?" asked lily all of a sudden. "i know you are married. i don't know what happened to your wife, who's not here in this world. all i know is Maya needs a mother from now."

Greg's eyes welled up. he looked at his daughter, Maya who was extremely joyful listening to that. she nodded tiredly but happily.

Lily asked to excuse her for a minute, she walked out of the theatre, chin up, knowing what she did is the right thing and called up her parents, the Davids, to inform and get the consent from them about her decision.

[1 year later]

it's the same day as last year when Greg and Lily went on their first day but today, it's their wedding day.

Maya is beautifully dressed. happy, cheerful and recovered. enthusiastic about the wedding and her mother, Lily.
