Everpine’s Woes
Once known for its vibrant Festival of Lights, the village of Everpine now struggled under the weight of unrelenting winters and dwindling resources. Fractured by fear and hardship, its people grew distant.
Anna, the widowed baker, kept her bakery running for her son Jamie, though her heart wasn’t in it. The loss of her husband, Michael, two years ago had left her grieving in silence. Each loaf of bread she kneaded reminded her of the life she could no longer share with him.
Jamie, full of boundless energy, had taken it upon himself to make Christmas special again. “Maybe if we light the big tree, everyone will be happy,” he told his friends Clara, Ben, and Sofia one afternoon.

Jamie’s Discovery
While out gathering wood, Jamie and his friends stumbled upon faint tracks in the snow near the edge of the forest. Clara, ever the curious one, whispered, “Do you think it’s wolves?”
Jamie shook his head, staring at the tracks. “No... I think it’s someone lost.”
Unsettled but determined, they decided to keep working on their decorations.
