Aria was about to retort, but before she knew it, Vixie had taken her hand and led her toward the guest room. The door clicked shut behind them with a soft finality, and Aria’s heart raced. What’s going on? Why am I here? Why does everything feel so... strange?
Vixie’s voice broke through her thoughts, his tone low and serious. "We don’t have much time. Come close."
Aria stiffened, her instincts telling her to back away. She instinctively moved her hands to shield her chest, her face flushing. What does he want now?
With a soft laugh, Vixie ignored her defensive posture and flicked her forehead. "Dirty-minded," he muttered with a grin. Then, his expression softened as he placed his hand gently on her head.
Aria froze. What is happening? she thought. His voice— But then, the realization hit her. His lips hadn’t moved, yet she had clearly heard him. She stiffened in shock. Telepathy?!
Vixie’s amused voice echoed in her mind, “Oh, God, you stupid little girl. It’s telepathy.”
Aria blinked, sheepish. "Ooh!" she stammered, her cheeks burning. Great, now I feel like an idiot. She glanced at Vixie, who was watching her with an almost affectionate exasperation.
He leaned in, his tone suddenly more serious. “Aria, I have something important to say. Listen carefully.”
