Lost Childhood 2
It was getting dark, and time for Martina to be heading home. Her brother usually came this way from football practice, but for some reason hadn’t been by yet.

Martina told Emily she was
going so she could help with dinner; Emily asked her to wait for a few more minutes both he and her brother would be there shortly, but Martina would listen.

She started skipping away pretending to continue she was still playing hopscotch as she yelled goodbye to her friend. They would continue their game tomorrow.

It was at this very moment that the van slowly pulled away from the curb where it had been parked all day.
They would definitely continue to canvas the neighborhood again tomorrow.

Emily looked up saw Michael and Miguel coming around the corner. The two boys waved at the van as it passed them on the street. The van drove by with no response. The boys turned and watched the van pick up speed and turn at the same corner they had.

Michael and Miguel tried their hand at hopscotching which immediately made Emily burst out in laughter.
Their r feet were just too bit for the squares that she and Martina had drawn earlier that day.
