a filipino traveller.
I'm pale in comparison compared to the sea of colors that surround the place in hundreds or thousands. There's a wave of people of different sizes, shapes, skintones, and the like.
I stand out because I'm a filipino-- dark-skinned, short, Spanish/Asian-looking, and all the other characteristics that make me so. I have travelled to 32 countries as of year 2019 and still the people in the world react the same towards me.
It's always always the same. People sit away from me at the bus, sneer at me or position their bags away from my direction. As if I'm some sort of common thief who would pickpocket their bags or slash them so the contents would spill and I would take their valuables.
It always breaks my heart to a degree whenever I witness that kind of behavior. I just lower my head and move along.
