Today I was so exited and happy. I was sure that when I go down, in the huge verandah, everybody is gonna go, "surprise", but I was truly
disappointed after finding out that no one remembered my birthday but I still had some hope. 'Maybe everyone is just tricking me into thinking that they don't remember anything', I thought. But after my little sister didn't say a thing, I was starting to get a bit impatient and wanted to voluntarily tell everyone the 'truth'. But then I decided to not tell any one, if they wanted to wish me, they can do it themself. But then I was confused, if the decoration was not for me, then whom was it for? I was in deep thinking when I was disturbed by someone. Apparantly, not everyone forgot my birthday. There was this girl, named Akhila, who lived just four houses to the left of mine/ ours. She is from the north(maybe that's why grandpa doesn't like her). I have had a crush on her since I was 11( I am thirteen right now). Anyways, she was standing right outside the door and was calling out my name. I happily went out to meet her with some hope. And I was so relieved when she gave me a flower and said,' Happy Birthday'. I was so distracted by her beauty, that I made the mistake of keeping the flower in my front pocket. So when I reached home, grandpa and pa were so angry. I tried to explain myself, but it was too late. Grandpa gave me a long speech about how small distractions have huge complications. And as if the situation couldn't get any worse, there was a knock on the door. Nobody was really expected today, but I was kind of relieved that the attention turned away from me.
