VACHU’S LEMON FACTORY
This story is based on Grandmother who lived in a village which is in Tamilnadu. Her name was Vachu and her husband’s name was Somu they both lived together in that village. They were blessed with three daughters all were married first daughter lived in Mumbai, second and third daughter lived in Tamilnadu. They had their own house infront of their house there was a garden where they use to grow lemons, tomatoes, brinjals, avala, ladys finger, curry leaves, podhina, chikoo, custard apple, papaya, flowers and various leaves. Very rarely they go to the vegetable market as most of the vegetables grow in their garden. In a day 10-20 lemons are grown so Vachu decided to sale those lemons to the people near by home. After some days the market was down there was only few sales within the village so Vachu decided to expand her market while she was thinking what is the solution for expanding her market then suddenly an idea entered her mind to go Mumbai.
As Vachu’s first daughter lives in Mumbai so she decided to go Mumbai to expand her market she carries all the lemons along with her and gets ready to catch the train. As this is the first time vachu going to Mumbai so she informs her daughter about the presence. Next day was the train so she wake up early and prepared lemon rice, roti, tomato chutney and curry leafy rice packed in a banana leafy for train. From this we can come into conclusion that vachu always uses natural products she never waste anything.
Vachu arrives at the station to catch the Kurla Express. Then she gives a call to her daughter, who is in Mumbai and informs her about the reaching at station. At that time her daughter tells about the water point to fill the bottle. Then Vachu goes to the water point, places her bottle and insert one rupee coin to fill her bottle but due to some issue she couldn’t fill it. She was too tensed that how to get that 1 rupee from the machine. So she shook that machine, guess what? she got her one rupee back along with that she got 5 rupees too. Vachu was so happy to receive 5 rupees just by inserting 1 rupee. Then she filled her bottle in the drinking water zone and catches the train at 11:20 am.
While travelling to Mumbai, opposite seat girl was not feeling well she was continuously vomiting. The girl’s parent was so disturbed don’t know how to manage, at that time Vachu removes her lemon and gives to that girl then she feels better. Vachu came with the aim to sale those lemons before that she got satisfied. Atleast she helped those who were in need. After reaching thane her daughter came to receive Vachu then they catch local train to reach home. Vachu decided to sale those lemons from local train itself for 10 rupees she gave 5 lemons. Within an hour she sold 35 lemons and she earned 70 rupees. Vachu was so confident about the expansion of the market. After returning back to home she hardly rested at home again she went to market to sale those lemons. With four days she sold 260 lemons and earned 520 rupees, she sold all lemons this was a great improvement in her sale. She thought to start her own shop in Mumbai for that she requires more lemons that will be so difficult, everytime she have to go Tamilnadu to bring lemons. So she decided to set up shop in Mettur itself and continue her business.
During summer vacation Vachu’s grand-daughter Dhivyaa came to Mettur to enjoy with her grandparents. Dhivyaa go with her grandmother to shop items from ration market which helped her grandparents alot. Usually Vachu buy rice, dal and sugar from ration by using her card. She sale those items to others at normal rates. These things were so heavy that Vachu couldn’t carry back to home so she calls that person to collect for that also she gives miscall to him. From this we can clearly understand how miserly she was! Every women should learn from her that how to be close-fisted.
Vachu continues her business and becomes so popular everyone remembers her by lemon. Like facebook there are many followers for Vachu. So neighbours suggested Vachu to participate in the election. Lemon is the official logo of Vachu which is in yellow color indicates symbol of wealth. Vachu went for pracharam with her grand-daughters and she made understand the people about the purpose of her participation. Also she had promised to the people that she will give 10 lemons per vote. People were well satisfied with her talks. Vachu wonned the election with 2360 votes. After election she provided 10 lemons per vote. There were many lemons in each house so all womens tried their best level to finish those lemons because the lemons will get dried. So all womens started their morning with lemon tea, lemon rice, lemon juice, lemon pickle and ended their day with lemon rasam. All husbands were irritated of their wifes menu so all planned to divorce their wifes. Then all womens crowded at one place and discussed with Vachu about the formation of Womens association. Vachu constructed her house for Womens association where all womens worked for it. They grow all vegetables which was organic free and supplied to the whole village.
Vachu became so popular, her photo was seen in every magazine as “the brave and independent Vachu” from this you can come into conclusion that how brave and confident she was! Vachu was the best example for the all womens who lived in the world. Finally she was in the top most position in marketing business. Single lemon changed her life, Vachu was known only to her family but now the whole world knows her by lemon Vachu.
