Society Forbade..
Chapter 2:
Mary's POV:
Well, I'm back home. It's not really my home, but my parent's. And I'm regretting making the decision of wanting to spend my weekend with them. What sought of parent welcomes you back from work with a frown. For crying out loud this so called thing is my life.
But they don't seem to get it.
You're probably wondering what I've been ranting about. Like I said earlier my name's Mary, the last child of my parent. I come from a family of 6. And all three children are married except for me. They don't seem to get it, I've not seen the love of my life.
"Marriage isn't a thing you just into" I said to mom as she closed the door behind her and sitting on my bed uninvited. "Mary, you are 24. I hope you realize that and you're not getting any younger, you know" she said.
"Argh, mom. Can we please change the conversation? "
" Hmm, you're always changing the conversation. But if you say so." She said standing to her feet. "Mom, it's just not a subject I fancy"
"Well, if you say so"
That's the part I hate about her, she can be so annoying.
"Mom"
"Yes, darling"
"I just want you to try and understand that I'm not ready for marriage because I've not seen the right person." I said putting my braids into a pony tail and putting a pencil on my desk beside a draft book.  No response, wow. All she gave me, was a dead smile. Yeah, it's dead cause it wasn't genuie.

She had gotten to the door before she turned her neck revealing her  silver earrings and said with a grin,
"Least I forget ,Kevin sends his regards"
I just got deaf immediately I heard his name maybe because I stuck in an ear pud. That name is hell.
I could tell she wore on a worried look once she noticed I wasn't paying any attention but she should learn to mind her business sometimes. By the time I heard the door close, I just went straight to the bathroom for a cold shower.
The water was cold and freezing as hell. I let the water drown all my pain. Getting out of the bathroom, I wore my shorts and a tank top. I should really try to go shopping.
Kevin, Kevin, did he really. Shut up brain, shut it. He doesn't worth it at least not my time.
I work as an editor in The Vanguard Newspaper and trust me reading and editing drafts is not any easy task especially when the story is out of line, it could be frustrating.. Argh, I'm stressed out. And I have a draft to read. Who gives a story title  the name, " Hell in Sodom."
I really should just throw the draft away, but let me give it a shot at least to tell anyone that enters my room that I'm busy.

30 minutes later.....
Seriously, that book was hell itself. It really tortured me. My head needs rest.
I heard my ringtone, actually it's Chandelier by Sia and guess who it is. It's actually the guy I met six hours ago. Yh, the one I met under the sky bridge at Oshodi. He said his name was Lawal.
"Good evening" I heard on the other end.
"Good evening, Mr Lawal" I said letting a smile lighten my cheeks.
"Just call me Lawal, and yes you told me to call you in six hours time. And if I'm correct that should be now" I could hear him chuckle at the formality in his language.
"Err, yes. Please could you remind why I said so? I seem to have a lot going on"
"Yh, sure. It's about the work shop."
"K,that. Yes. Why don't we meet tomorrow to talk about this. And I'll like to know if you're willing to help and don't worry you'll be paid for your service" I said as I played with my pencil on the desk I sat in front.
"Yes, sure. You just pick a location and I'll be there" he said.
" Erm, k. How about we meet at Ikeja City Mall. Will that be convenient?" I asked.
"Yes,sure"
"K, good night"
"Good night".

And with that call my stomach grumbled. It's going royal rumble in there. I had better go ring the bell to end the fight.
And I should find myself a dress for tomorrow. How weird could my life be. I smiled at the thought of this.

5 years later,
Just kidding dinner seemed like it was never going to end. And now I'm in bed dying of boredom but not now that my supposed friend texted,

"Hey"

  Seriously, who abandons their friend.

"Are you there?" She texted.
" I know you're there"
"Please,forgive me😞😟"
"I miss you"

"Hey, Kosi. How are you? I thought you were dead" I texted back. I sure can be mean.

"Ouch, that's rude. But anyway I'll over look it cause I'm at fault, just wanted to check on you. And wanted to ask if you'll be less busy tomorrow, just to catch up" She sent.

"Lolz, sorry. Just angry 😠 with you. And i'm busy tomorrow. I'm finally working on that work shop I told you about. That's if you remember" I texted.

"OMG, of course I do. But I hope you do know what you're putting yourself into, right. You're dad, wouldn't fancy your name being in the news. You do know he's the Deputy-Governor , right?"

"Yh, I do. He's my dad and I am doing it. I Just got an aide like 50 minutes ago and we're meeting tomorrow"  I texted back knowing her reaction.

"😮😮😮😮.What! That's horrible". She texted back.

"Yh, I know right. Lolz. Gonna do it any way"

"You are unbelievable. Don't say I didn't warn you. Well, gotta go girl. I'll call you by 9:30 am tommorow. Expect it "

"Seriously, urgh. K. Good night love"

"Yuck, good night"

"😜😝Good night"
