Welcome to High School--Chapter 13
Chapter 13- Homecoming queen

The drinks, the adorable couples, my favourite songs of all time blasting through the loudspeakers, what else could I have wished for my first dance in high school. Liv and James gave me a weird kind of stare but I just ignored them.

“You look great.” June said to me.

“Don't talk to me ever again.” I said.

“Look I am sorry for all what I did. I didn't have a choice. Please forgive me, I have left her alone. I thought she would change, but she didn't.” June said and she sounded sincere.

“Whatever I forgive you.” I said rolling my eyes.

“And me?” Henry said with a sad look on his face. I just walked away.

“Awwwn you look cute baby girl.” Junior said holding hands with Lizzy.

“So you guys have finally forgiven yourself.” Lizzy said pointing at June.

“Of course she has.” June said and I have her an assuring smile.

“Okay guys. This is awakard. Our homecoming queen is ready to get her crown.” Lizzy said and looked at me.

And the homecoming queen is…. Harley hart.” I came out. I was so happy especially when Liv tried her best to not let me succeed. Liv walked away angrily. “Lizzy, Harley, Junior would you also forgive me.” He said with the mic so everyone would hear.” Of course. But please don't try it again.” I said. Lizzy also shook her head yes to assure him.

But Junior? “Junior I hurt you the most you are my best friend. I'm sorry.”

I gave Junior a look to plead him. “Fine but I'm still angry.” Junir said and hugged James. “You have a reason to.” James said.

“And the homecoming king is…..Henry!” When the announcer cried out. And once again my heart was beating a million miles. I wanted to walk away. But I felt his cold palms on my waist. I could not do anything anymore. It was just like the party. Throughout the dance, I was looking at him and no other person but him.

He locked lips with mine. And I just went with the flow and closed my eyes. Everyone was applauding us except Liv. “ I'm sorry.”He whispered. “I love you.” I replied.” “Love you more.”

Hope my girlfriend isn't too sure for a dance off.” Henry said to me again. I just smiled in assurance.

People didn't even give us space. Everyone was dancing with each other. June was dancing with another boy, who she told me that he was her boyfriend.

I realized that all the situations I had gone through in my life were meant to happen or I might never had met the special people in my life. From that day my life wasn't perfect, but I couldn’t wish for a better life. Junior and I had our fights but we always came together. My mom didn't find that special someone but there was still hope, because she had us.

High school looked so scary without my father but it turned out that he was always there the whole time. He was always by my side.
