Lifetime (Part 1)

Before anything else, I would like to tell about the title of this story is based on a song "Lifetime" by one of the famous Filipino group, Ben & Ben.

Was it the wrong time, what if we tried giving in a little more?..."
Introduction (First person POV):
"Is it okay to love a person again? Am I worth it to this kind of existence? It seems like no person would care for my feelings. It's okay, I need to exert my effort to make a person happy while it lasts... Till here..."
"Hello! I'm Shannon, just call me Sha. I'm almost reaching the stage of adult. And this is a story about a girl who wanted to achieve someone in her life, but how did it ended? You can tell me."

Shannon wakes up in her bed, looks at her clock and she stretches her body. "Looks like I need to get up and get ready to prepare my bones. I'm so excited to start a new day of my senior high school days. I need to impress my surroundings, but.. How?" As she ran down the stairs, she hugged her Mom and smiles, "Mom! I need to go right now. I can't miss this first day of my last senior days." Her mother chuckles and said, "Actually, you don't have to be rush since it's your first day, right?" "Alright, I'll eat", she pouted and sits as she picks up the utensils and started to ear her meal. Afterwards, she rushed through the door to ride in. vehicle as she waves goodbye to her mother. "I'll be back soon, Mom". As she proceeded to the assigned classroom, she felt the vibration inside her body, showing that she is nervous to meet her old set of classmates and new ones as well. "I'm not ready yet", she holds her notebook and covers her face. In a few minutes, the professor comes in his class and let his students introduce themselves once more. Shannon stood in front and tell about herself. Yet, she thinks that she is not good enough to impress a person. "You may sit down", Professor Harold said. Shannon looks at her classmates and it seems that they are happy again to meet her.
Few weeks later, a student from other school sits beside her and smiled. "It's pleasure to meet you! I'm Norman. You must be Shannon, right? Your close friend told me about you", he said as he gives her a hand shake. "Oh.. Uh, thanks", she blinks and shakes his hand. "Mike said that you're good at singing and a kind one, too", Norman chuckled while he looked at her. "Mhm, yeah, I am. I guess", as she tries to avoid an eye contact from him. "Don't feel bad. I bet you're a good singer. Sometimes, let's have a collaboration in school activities", he added. "Thank you", she draws a smile on her cheeks and nods. From then on, Norman and Shannon become good friends. Not until another few weeks passed, two new students came in to sit by and introduced themselves. "My name is Karla", the girl said. "I'm Dan", the other guy speaks behind her. "Hi! I'm Shannon. Nice to meet you guys", as she gives them a hand shake and nodded. "By the way, do you have ambitions that you want to achieve", as Shannon started a small topic for them to share stories. "I want to be a pastor someday", Dan said while he eats a bag of chips. "Oh, me? I wanna be a psychologist someday so I can help my friends out to their problems", as Karla gets some chips and eats. "What about you", she added while looking at her. "Oh? Uh, I want to be a singer and an actress as well", Shannon uttered. "So double dreams", the girl beside her raised her brow as she eats chips with Dan. "Yeah, that's what I wanted to be", she smiled a bit. "That's good to hear", Karla pats her gently and chuckles. "Well, me and your friends will support on your journey." "Thanks", Shannon hugs them. She never had these kind of friends before. During break time, Shannon and her friends were eating their snacks together until one time, some of her classmates passed by and started to gossip about Shannon's negative reputations which is false.
"Gross! Shannon is such a dirty girl. Let's get rid of her", as they rolled their eyes and walked in front of her sight. "Don't mind them. They're just envy cuz you're the sweetest girl in class", Karla patted her back gently and accompanied her back to class. Later on, the people at the back keeps on talking about Shannon whilst she writes her work. "I can't concentrate. Ignore them", she thought to herself. "I wish I never talked about my past from those people, I thought they're my close friends. It's just, they're using me for their fame. I mean, there are groups of friends. Like, groups of gals, groups of men, gamers. Where do I really belong? I guess, I'm nobody's property or group, then", she sighed and continues in writing. "You're one of us, right", Karla tries to cheer her up as she whispers in an ear. Shannon just nodded and smiled at her.
Months passed by, their friendship grows stronger as they are learning about themselves more by sharing each other's experiences. In Research class, Shannon was being grouped to Karl's group. She is happy that she is with Karla, whom she is really closed too, just like Mike. Even in Creative Writing class, Shannon becomes more confident to be with Karla's group due to their mutual bond. Until, in the second grading period of the class, Shannon was not happy about the changing of groups in other subjects. That day, she was being grouped with people who were rude towards her. During the group activity, most of her classmates give their task to her so she would suffer all by herself. Sometimes, her classmates were mimicking her hyperventilating actions and making fun at her every time she passed inside the class. She seems doesn't feel safe from that kind of judgement that they're giving to her. Even so, she tries her best to ignore them. One time, they all went to a library where they will continue the class in a certain subject. As the class is not started yet, Shannon sees a guy, watching something as she passed by his seat and she tries to take a peek a bit. "Oh!!! That's the show I've been looking for! That kind of animation, right"? The guy hears her voice as he stopped from watching for a while, then he removed it and tilted his neck to look up. "Uh.. Yes", he speaks and nod slowly. After that, Shannon just give him the smile and went back to her seat for the class. The professor comes in the library and calls for an attendance, but Shannon is out of concentration due to the guy she saw few minutes ago. "I want to know him. I forget to ask his name. It's just I am shy, and I don't want to be looked like a stalker or something. He's kinda interesting to talked to", she begins to sway her head and taps the table softly while thinking about the new guy in school. "If that's in case, I want to befriend him so I can get any information about the animation he is watching. Besides, it's my favorite animation style of all times", squirmed softly. "Maybe, I can ask some people if they know any short information about his name? Nah, not now. But sooner..."
At the time the clock strikes at 4:00 p.m., the students rushed downstairs to get in a vehicle and go home to their places. As for Shannon, she sees the guy whom she talked to and tries to follow him. Unfortunately, he was too far away and walked to go home. "Oh, come back", sighed sadly.
Once the school campus is empty, she puts her bag down to her room and sits, still thinking about a guy whom she just met hours ago. "Ugh,I can't stop thinking about him. I mean,no malicious manner. But, I want to be friends with him."
