Chapter 1

I felt the cool water on my feet, the rough sand beneath me. Slowly, I opened my eyes to find myself on a beach.

A man lay unconscious beside me. "Where are we?" I whispered.

I turned him gently, positioning him more comfortably. Relieved to find a pulse, I began to shake him. "Sir, wake up! Wake up!"

He remained unconscious, but then an idea struck me. Should I really do this?
