If you hear crying in the Forrest of Klamath National Park, leave emmediatly.
My name is Thomas, and I have a warning for anyone camping overnight in Klamath National Park, one I wish they'd given me and my friends...
It started as an ordinary day, with clear blue skies and plenty of beautiful woodland to explore. Me, my friends Jason and Marria were all spending a week here to get away from our families for a little bit, and what could be better than camping? As we pulled into our spot, I couldn't help but notice how tucked away from everything else it was, like we were genuinely isolated from the world, which admittedly was the point of this trip, but there was something else as well, like I was being observed from afar. I chalked it up to some animal that was curious about us and continued to unpack and set up my tent, being sure to keep the alcohol and pot out of sight since we were all under twenty-one.
My dad had also sent me with his Colt Python invade we ran into any kind of trouble, and while they weren't prohibited here, I decided that unless we were out at night if leave it in my tent.
"Hey Thomas, how far is the lake from here?", Jason asked as he stepped out of his tent in his shorts and sandals.
"Just follow the road the way we were going and you'll find it", I replied as I began to set up the portable speaker Marria had brought so we had some music. Jason took off leaving me and Marria to finish up, buy neither of us minded since Jason has driven us all here.
Soon the sun began to set, and when Jason returned to the camp, he looked confused and a little bit nervous.
"Did you guys hear that?", he asked as he entered his tent and began to change while I lit a fire and Marria started getting her bong set up.
"No, why?", Marria responded, both of us now confused.
"When I was coming back, I heard a faint sound like someone was crying in the woods. It could have been an animal, but I don't know it just seemed weird is all".
"Well we'll keep an ear out, then report it to one of the Park Rangers tommorow", I replied as the fire finally became stable enough to leave alone.
The night progressed without incident, and the next day was even sunnier than the last, so we all decided to hit the lake for the day. While me and Jason goofed around in the water, Marria layed tanning on the shore, and I will admit that she looked very beautiful. But then I felt uneasy, like I was being watched again and this time I could have sworn I saw something off in the tree line but again I just figured it was a apex animal like a mountain lion or a bear which were both common here, but they usually stayed father into the woods away from the campsites and trails. At some point Marria hollered that we should head back to camp for a few drinks, and at the sound of that me and Jason smiled at each other then raced back to the shore, much to Marria's ammusment. As we walked back we laughed and joked about people at school, our families, and anything else we could think of to pass the time. As we walked, Marria drifted closer to me, then whispered,"Meet me in my tent tonight", before giving me a wink and walking of with a smile and a away if her hips that hypnotized my teenage mind.
"Luck shit", Jason said good naturedly as he playfully shoved me. Then something happened.
Off to our right, we could hear what sounded like an elderly man crying as if deeply depressed, and it sounded like it was right next to us, yet we saw no one. Then just as suddenly as it started, it was over, and still no source in sight, and judging by Marria's expression she had heard it to. We all quickly got back to camp and when a Ranger rolled by we notified her about the incident, stating someone might need help. She thanked us, then hurried along to the sight of the event, and for a bit we just sat around the fire with music playing. Marria eventually busted out a blunt and some Vodka, then sitting on my lap, which surprised both Jason and I, lit it and we began passing both around for bit, lifting our spirits as Marria started playing Juice World and Black Bear. Soon the sun set and we were all ready for bed, but instead of heading to her tent like she said, Marria took my hand and led me into my tent. She then laid on my bed and I climbed on top of her, and well you know how this goes, but about Midway through there was a russel outside of my tent, and suddenly the incident from yesterday emmediatly came to mind. Then we heard Jason enter his tent, so we figured he had just gotten up to use the restroom and proceeded with our night.
The next morning, I woke up to find her gone, but I figured she'd gone to the restroom, until I noticed that the tent flap was open and my nerves were set on edge. I threw on my cloths, grabbed the revolver, and was rushing to get Jason when I stopped suddenly to avoid slamming into Marria who was carrying two plates of food back to the tent.
"Jeasus Christ Thomas, calm down and put that away", Jason said, his concern for me obvious. Feeling stupid, I out the gun up...
