The Light Bill
It was a rainy night Walter Dean came over Catherine Murphy’s house and told her about what was going on with him. I have been feeling depressed I am not married, I am about to lose my lights in my home I need to come up with $400 for my light bill or me and Harold will be in the dark said Walter. Don’t you worry I will help you matter a fact I will call my brother Sir Alexander II he will help get the light bill paid replied Catherine Walter smiled. The next morning it was still raining uncle Wellford and his wife aunt May was sitting in the living room they were talking about Walter. I think the boy is a piece of junk he never had nobody and never will said uncle Wellford I got an idea let’s steal the money from Sir Alexander II and let’s use that money for us replied aunt May. Will both of you shut up nobody is stealing any money listen here you pork chop if you steal any money from my twin brother I will beat your butt with my large silver spoon in the kitchen said Catherine. Aunt May made a sad look at her husband Wellford and she looked at Catherine then she put her head down uncle Wellford didn’t say anything neither did Catherine but she made Catherine really mad that rainy night. Don’t you got something to do? Catherine ask oh yeah I gotta called Sir Alexander II for you right? Uncle Wellford ask no no no you don’t have to do that you gotta go bring those dirty dishes out of your room bring them in the kitchen and wash them replied Catherine oh yes that’s right I am going to do that now said uncle Wellford. That stormy night Walter came back over Catherine’s house this time he brought Harold with him he knocked on the door uncle Wellford let him in this time he was in the room with uncle Wellford, and aunt May. What do the both of you want now? Uncle Wellford ask we came to thank grandma for helping us pay the light bill replied Harold.
