Exam day
Today is 7 December 2023. I got up at 12’ o'clock in the middle of the night, switched off the charging of my mobile phone. Then fell on bed to sleep more. At 3:00 am my mother whispered in the ears, “ What's the time?” Acting like a drunk person I crawled towards my phone and said, “it's only 3, just sleep an hour more.”
Exactly at 4:00 am the alarm rang. The sound was irritating but we had to wake up. We left home at 5:45 am and caught a taxi within 15 minutes. The middle row consists of 3 seaters and a plastic table. It was strange, I had never seen such a thing in public transport.
Watching the destination on Google map, I have spent 29 minutes. But before reaching the destination I felt nausea. I thought I could control it. Only 2 km, 1.9 km….1.2 km. And there I shouted stop the vehicle. I ran outdoors to inhale the fresh air. 6 deep breaths and there I felt somewhat normal. Again riding back to the vehicle we stepped out on the location.

But still there were 5 km more to be travelled. We decided to walk along until we find a transport. Only school vans, school buses and private vehicles could be seen at that time. 7:00 am , rising sun, winter morning, silent roads and people jogging along with their pet dogs. What more do you need to relax? Everything was perfect but we didn't have time to enjoy this scenery. The roadmap direction was amongst the narrow streets of the different localities. At one moment I wished to just start sprinting but I was not alone walking. My mother was there with me. Maybe that's the only reason I always wanted to travel alone. Maybe that way I could save some time to reach the exam centre. 1,2,3….. 30 then start counting again. My 10 steps covered 10 metres each. Counting, humming, lost in my own thoughts I found that my shoes soles have been removed by the wear and tear. But those were the new shoes. How can they(shoes) betray in a moment like this? Lastly when there was only 1 km left we found a transport. We arrived on time and everything was fine and interesting.
