Incubus
"Anyone there...?"
"Somebody help me!"
The words echoed through the vast darkness that was dawning upon the forest.
I was running with all the power that was left in my body. I was sweating as if there was a raining cloud over my head. I was panting badly, unable to catch my breath, unable to see in the darkness properly, I was locating my path in the pale moonlight.
Someone was chasing me or something, I was unable to take a look exactly what it was but it was not stopping. Maybe it was the Slenderman or maybe Coco, I was too terrified to look. All I knew it wanted me either dead or alive. I didn't know where I was running, was anybody going to help me or not, I didn't wanna die just yet.
I jumped behind a redwood to catch my breath. I tried to be as quiet as possible. I couldn't hear anything, not even the sound of crickets. It was haunting and my heart was in my mouth. Suddenly tearing through the silence I heard a hungry roar, a roar that could give a deaf person goose flesh.
I gathered all my strength to push my body from the land but as soon as I turned from the tree, there it was waiting for me. My blood went cold, my body turned pale and I froze. I lost my voice and tears came flowing out my eyes. There was a silhouette of a demonic figure in front of me which was about to devour me when out of nowhere a bright light appeared. A white light thundered through the forest which made my vision blurry. I heard a female voice roared,
"Go away!"
And it all blinded me. It took me few minutes to bring my senses in place. There was a glowing figure standing in front of me, and there was no trace of the thing I was running from. She helped me on my feet. I asked her about what just happened and who she was but all she did was smile. She flapped her wings and flew away with a blinding light.
Suddenly I opened my eyes and there I was, lying on my bed, still sweaty, still panting.
"Was it all in a dream? But it felt so real..."
And as soon as my mind started spinning, I noticed there was a white feather in my hand.
