Glory Days.
#WritcoStoryPrompt5
The diamond necklace on the mannequin looked familiar. She placed her palm on the window that separated them and leaned in closer. Her blue eyes gazed at the elegance of the necklace. She dare not stare too long, she had no money.
Life has always been a little unfair to Afra, she had lost her family in a plane crash at the age of 9 and left to live with her aunt. Her wicked aunt. "Huh! " she sighed as she walked past the shop. "I dare not" as she mumbled away.

"At once!" Attorney Matt had just returned from his trip to Scotland six months later where he works as a Director for a law firm. Afra was going to throw the trash can into the truck when she stumbled on the attorney. "what the f**k?!!!" his eyes widely spread and ready to roast whoever the kill joy is. "I'm so sorry sir. I'm deeply sorry for the mess." Afra said almost crying. She knew she'd never earn enough to pay for his shoes her lifetime, and of course her aunt mustn't hear of this. She'd kick her out in an instant. No doubt. She bent down to wipe the dirt off his shoes with her long thick black hair. "This is all I can do sir. Please forgive me". "Stand up please. Do rise." "Uh, well, it's fine. Yeah. You can go." He said shyly, as he adjusted his collar. "Huh? " she said confusely. "My card", he said as he stretched out his long delicate arms. He smiled childishly and walked away. "Afra!!" her aunt called loudly. She has always been that way. Very unnecessarily ferocious, ugh! She ran inside looking back at intervals, confused.

"May I suppose I have your attentions please?" Everyone gathered to listen to the boss. Matt owns a jewelry store down the street. Yes, that store belongs to him. "We have a new muse. She's Afra but we'll call her Afra." Michelle turned to Derrick, She's AFra but we'll call her AFra? Isn't that the same?" Derrick shrudded as he looked on with smile. Ah! Derrick? He's the type who licks the leg of the powerful." "Yes, she'll be modeling for our new deliveries this week and then the Mannequin Necklace." "But sir, it's for an auction. The companies agreed to buy it at a higher price if it remains at it normal state." Manager Kayode argued. "I found the rightful owner and I want it on her. She's my muse. Got any problem with that?" after a short long silence,"Good." Matt affirmed as he ushered Afra into his office. And Afra, she had stood there all along smiling confusely. Oh, what else could she have done? Introduced herself? That'd make the atmosphere weird.

Afra couldn't get herself in this weird situation but does everything they told her to do. The necklace was placed on her tiny beautiful neck. The necklace shined more brightly like a jade in the sun. "Nice catch boss" Manager Kayode said silently. "What? Silly! We just met. We want to take it slowly." "Take what slowly?" asked Kayode. "What? I meant the auction. You're so silly!" he said fluffily as his ears and cheeks turned pink. "I didn't say anything." Kayode said smiling, deriving joy from teasing his boss. He's that kind of a person.
