Chapter 1
I don’t know if heaven or hell exists, but I know damn well there’s a special place for assholes who put their hands on women or children—a special place for monsters who don’t know how to keep their hands to themselves.
"Goddamn monster! You heartless freak! Don’t fucking touch me, or so help me God, I’ll have your fuc—"
Obviously, I don’t care what a rapist has to say, so naturally, I tune him out, humming my favorite song to myself. It’s the only real thing I have left from my "normal"childhood.
"A special hellhole, you could argue, for scumbags like you."
I smile, twirling my switchblade in my hand. Its handle is a muddy brown, like the murkiness of a swamp or fresh rain-soaked earth. The silver blade is sharpened to one hell of a fine point—sharp enough to kill a man on its own. But where’s the fun in killing them right away? That’s no proper punishment for these terrible men.
As I twirl the blade, the green emeralds encrusted in the handle sparkle, gleaming like dew-kissed grass on a spring morning. I run a finger along the...
