There once lived a fisherman named Jason who lived with his wife and daughter. Jason adored that little girl and doted on her, but when she turned seven she began to fall sick. Jason tried everything in power to get his little girl all the help he could but she was getting worse everyday. None of the numerous herbs, teas, pills and syrups were working and Jason and his wife grew more and more frustrated.

Whiles fishing for supper one evening, a strange looking woman approached Jason and begged for money. Since he had none at that moment, he offered her his catch for the day. Before the old lady went on her way with the fish, she told Jason about a magical koi pond not very far from their village. She told him that the fish if caught and prepared, had the ability to heal any and every form of sickness.
“It’ll save your daughter” she said, before he could ask how she knew his daughter was sick she had disappeared without a trace.

After discussing it with his wife, Jason set off to find this magical koi pond with the hopes of saving his ailing daughter.
He journeyed deep into the woods and after three days of searching he found a strange looking door in the woods. He walked through the door and it was a room filled with gold, rubies, diamonds and other precious jewels. This won’t save my daughter, he thought to himself and walked past the precious stones. At the end of the room was the old woman to whom he had given his catch to.

“Well done! You have shown that you’re not greedy; most people do not walk past all this wealth and not take a piece of it” she said.

She explained that the gold room was a test and that she was the keeper of the koi pond.
She led him to another room where there was a koi pond with different colored koi swimming in it.

“Take any one of them, they will heal your daughter” she said.

So, he caught one of the fish to also repay for his kindness earlier. The old woman gave Jason many sacks of gold.
Jason quickly thanked the old woman and left, as he left the strange looking door vanished behind him. He made his way back home with the fish and prepared a meal with it for his daughter, and lo and behold, she was instantly well.
Jason together with his wife and daughter lived happily ever after
