The thirteen-year-old boy stepped off his uncle’s front porch. He waved to his aunt as he pushed his bicycle down the driveway. He told his aunt he intended to ride his bike to a friend’s house on the street behind his uncle’s house. However, he had different intentions for this warm summer Saturday afternoon. He rode past the neighbors’ houses. A family preparing to leave on summer vacation, another family playing in their front yard with small children, and a couple of fathers mowing their front yards. He turned right onto a side street and rode in the direction of the street behind his uncle’s house.
