Burning - 2018 (Mystery/Drama) korean
I never struggled to comprehend a movie as much as burning. The last scene didn't give me the ending vibe, in contrast it awaken my critique drive of the brain. This story is adapted from the short novel (Barns burning) written by one of my favorites author Haruki Murakami.
The plot tells the story of 3 protagonists Jong-su, Hae-mi, and Ben. The truth is nobody can explain this story line in any manner. In my perception this story tells about the division of society where, Jong-su comes from a lower class family, Hae-mi from middle class, and finally Ben represents the upper class. The tension between 3 characters are portrayed in a manner, where you could find an edge of the seat experience. First 40 minutes you might feel it's a normal love triangle story. However, slowly you may notice that, the three main characters circle warily, looking at each other with desire, mistrust, need, never certain of the accuracy of their perceptions.

Movie says, that in life we all make our own conclusion with incomplete information by knowing without really knowing, which might gives satisfaction. But veracity is what we thought might be a metaphor of ambiguity. In these situations you may not able to understand who is the protagonist and antagonist. Same in the film you don't know who's right and wrong. It's your ability to find out whether Jong-su was right or wrong.
This movie is a real masterpiece of art, where the 3 actors performances will shock you in every aspect, and the cinematographer also blow you mind literally by showcasing the beauty of Seoul and it's outskirts.
I enjoyed watching Parasite, but this movie beat that with it's story and acting.
