THE MIRACULOUS
PART ONE
The cold air blew crisply on my face through the car open window. flattening my brand new scrubs to my chest. It was my first day as a junior officer in the federal medical center and I was excited and nervous at the same time. I had just finished my internship at the medical center and was very lucky to have been retained as a junior doctor. I was anxious and eager to start a career I was hoping would be successful and inventive.
The cold breeze blew again, startling me as I hurried the rest of the way into the outpatient obstetrics clinic where I stationed. I smiled at the nurses at the nurses station, nodded at a few of the patients already seated on the long pews in the corridor in front of the clinic and walked into the cubicle-like examination room.
The medical centre was a big hospital, one of the biggest in the country. It was a sprawling thirteen acre property with buildings littered all around it. The obstetrics clinic was on the north side of the compound, close to one of the little gates littered all over the premises.
I settled into my chair as one of the nurses came in to find out if I am ready for the patients. At my nod, she walked out of the room and promptly returned with my first patient of the day.
The day flew by so quickly. I was so engrossed in the day's work that I hadn't realized how late it was.

Going home later that day, I felt a sense of relief. my first day had gone so smoothly, and I knew that my stay at the federal medical centre was going to be a success.
PART TWO
It was my third week and I was back at the outpatient clinic. I had spent the last two weeks at the ward, where I had successfully carried out three caesarian sections and about a dozen spontaneous vaginal delivery. I had worked directly under Doctor Henry, one of the consultant obstetrics in my ward and even he had been impressed by my work and was ready to teach me more. I took my seat in the small examination room, as nurse Chinwe hovered over me. Nurse Chinwe has been assigned to me from my first week, she is a large, dark skinned motherly woman and she treats me more like a son than a doctor.
I looked at nurse Chinwe and nodded for her to bring in the patients, and that was the day we met her. The moment she entered the exam room, I knew instantly, we were not going to forget this woman in a hurry. Her smile lit up the tiny exam room as she walked straight to me and grabbed my hand in a surprisingly strong handshake. she wore a bright loose yellow dress which matched her sunny disposition perfectly. Her...
