Stand Firm, and You Will Win Life
My father, of blessed memory, would always say something.
"Learn to say no at the right time".
I never really understood the meaning of that.

Well, until yesterday evening.
A Christian friend invited me to a hangout.
I was in low spirits, so I thought that maybe hanging out with a group would make things look less discomforting.
Fastfoward to 53 minutes later,
I was at a table in a café, with my guy's 'friends'.
No be cyber café oo...
Ever looked at someone and just instinctively switched on guard mode? Yeah... That's was what I felt.
After a while, the table cleared. Our bellies were full.. minus me sha. Mine's a bottomless hole🙃
One of them was like,
"Guys, let's stroll around"
Me that wanted to sleep.
30 minutes later, we were strolling down a dark street and they branched.
One said,
"Let's go have fun"
Instantly, I felt as if someone pricked me.
And I knew, I just knew.
"Y'all should go on without me. I'll pass"
That was the sweet words came, and I finally understood the difficulty in standing firm.
I didn't know what they were up to, buh I knew I wasn't supposed to go with them.
Even my friend, someone I held in high esteem joined in trying to persuade me.
I just backed off.
As I walked away, I literally heard someone call me "c*w*rd".
Heii!!! Was it me they called that word!!
Oya!! Turn back.
I found myself still walking away.
It was at that moment I understood what Luke 6:29 was really saying at that moment.
Ahh! I felt humbled.
This evening, I just heard they were arrested alongside others at a bro*hel in possession of illegal substances.

Dear Neighbor,
Please, learn to say no at the right time.
You never know when or how it would save you.

Stand firm, and you will win life.
Luke 21:19 NIV
