In His Dying Breath
#LastWords

As he withered away like flower petals,
stepped and trampled on numerous times.
His eyes stared straight into the future he is to behold.
But all he saw, were memories of you.
Smiling like the sun he likes best, beaming like the moon he cherishes the most.
You danced in his mind like a candy that attracts attention.
His agony became a peaceful one,
and he thought out loud,
If I hold onto my beautiful past
that only has her in it.
I'll surely be happy to leave.
With the sadness in his eyes mixed with happiness, he knew leaving would hurt.
But he was going to be the wind that made her smile.
And he asked not for her undying love,
but the love that wills life.
He asked not for her vow, but for her promise to breath in air and imagined she was in his arms.
He asked not for her to forget,
But to remember that his last words was for her to live and be alive.
