GPS stands for Global Positioning systems. It is based on satellite for locating information. It works for navigation systems such as Mapping as well as GIS.
GIS stands for Geographical Information systems. It works through GPS.
GPS receives information about location from satellite but is not indulged to communicate with central unit.

GSM stands for Global system for mobile communications. It sends and collects data from central unit through a data call. Its communication unit while GPS is not communication unit but Navigating location unit.

GPRS stands for General Packet Radio Service is used for video calling , messaging though several multimedia , Email Accessing , etc.
