As we entered the restaurant, a bustling ambiance greeted us, my husband and I found a cozy spot and settled in.
We, both Deaf, were soon engrossed in cheerful conversations, our hands dancing in the air – a symphony of signs.

Soon a young waitress approached with a bright smile on her face.
Her face lit up when she saw us signing.
She gestured excitedly, "Oh, you are deaf! Perfect!"
We nodded in agreement, her excitement making our smiles brighter.

Suddenly she rushed out and returned a moment later with a big triumphant grin on her face.
"We just got some new Braille menus!" she announced, beaming from ear to ear.

We paused and laughed as we watched the waitress confused ‘deaf’ with ‘blind’.
We exchanged glances, and I happily spelled out "D-E-A-F, not B-L-I-N-D" to the waitress with my fingers.

Amidst our laughters, the waitress’ face turned red with good-natured embarrassment.
The rest of the meal was spent in mirth, making our dinner that night memorable.
All thanks to the amusing and enlightening mix-up combination.
