Chapter 6 - Nocturnal Ambush
I lay in bed, surrounded by the opulent furnishings of Eliezer's mansion. But my rest was short-lived, as I was suddenly jolted awake by a loud crash from downstairs. The sound was followed by the shattering of glass and the thud of footsteps.
I sat up with a start, my heart racing. Eliezer appeared beside me in an instant, his eyes blazing with a fierce inner light.
"What's happening?" I whispered, my voice trembling.
Eliezer's gaze never wavered from mine. "It seems we're under attack," he growled, his fangs bared in a snarl.
