Too Far Too Close Part 1 what you see vs what you get.
(Note: Quite a few grammar issues in this one hopefully it doesn't detract too much)

Seren looked in the mirror and then back down at her phone. She could not believe that Mr. and Mrs. Uyehara were dead, Seren looked at her phone and thought about calling that person, but she was not even 100% sure the person she was thinking of would still have that number. She could not believe this was happening. Those two were such amazing people, and now this had to happen. She knew most kids thought their parents were immortal, but that was always more of the stance she took with them than her actual parents. She always knew her parents were not infallible. But looking at the post that had somehow found its way into her feed, she could no longer deny the proof. Her mom called her down to breakfast. She sucked in a deep sigh, terrible as the news was, she had a bigger nightmare coming. She could feel it.
When did things get so complicated? The world she once knew had come crashing down on her all at once before this so, Why did it feel like it was happening all over again? She just needed an answer just this once, why did this always happen. She thought back to her first friend how things might have worked had they remained friends, had she not been forced to cut contact by her parents or been forcibly moved away from the first place she truly felt understood or, or, or. She started thinking about her first friend and their first meeting…
As a young woman lamented these losses, so too did a young man about 30 hours away from where she was, the graveyard place of a tragedy that had taken all but him, so the situation seemed. Ryota was sobbing on the ground in a suit that his mom had pre-made for weddings, dances, and the like. He always laughed at the thought because those events held the most discomfort he thought he would ever experience. He regretted thinking that now more than ever. In his head, he heard his mom’s voice gentle and soothing and his father’s steady hand. Both of them telling him that he would be okay, that they would do everything in their power to make it so.
But what did that mean now? Ryota wondered why they had left him with the one person who understood the least about him. His uncle probably did not want to understand him for who he actually was in the least. They hated each other before everything. Why would anything that happened in recent times change anything? As he pondered that, he started to get scared, but he knew that when he was scared to take advice from the other scariest moment, one that turned out not to be scary at all….

As he looked in the mirror, he thought it was all over. His perfect life is gone, his mom’s perfect ideal gone, his father’s precious little princess who supposedly should have grown to a queen gone, and everything he soon...
