Chapter 1

Today is my birthday. I am turning 14 and I'm really excited cause I'll get to have my favorite cake flavor, chocolate. I'll have lots of presents, balloons, friends, all my family... Suddenly my thoughts are interrupted by my best friend emily," Seriously, snap out of it lydia, You're going to get in trouble again!" My mind darts back to reality and I quickly open my book to page 101. The teacher looks at everyone, making sure they have opened their book."Read through page 101 to page 108 and answer the review questions on a separate peice of paper."Then he walks back to his desk and continues to read emails and do gradework."Thanks.",I say as I get out a sheet of paper."No problem," Emily looks at me with suspicion,"were you daydreaming about about your birthday again?," I sigh, "Yes, I just want to hurry up with this school day and go home and have my birthday and eat cake," I glance at the clock and sigh again,"The time is going slower than ever.", "I know right."
The teacher looks over at us," Less talking and more working!", We both turn away from each other and start reading our book.
