The Slime (Comic 7)
When Dirk and Jackson both looked at each other and had processed the scream from inside the Diner, they took off into the building without a plan. As they had run in, they saw that Lily was being held at gunpoint by a man in a ski mask.

“Quit squirming lady, I just want your money!” The robber said. People around the diner were under their tables cowering, some crying, and some even shrieking in fear. The kitchen staff were scared, but the Cook looked pretty mad and was coming up behind the robber, to hit him with a pan. The noise of Dirk and Jackson coming in had startled the robber, pointing the gun at them. The Cook had come up behind him and hit him with the pan, in doing so, the gun had gone off and the bullet had gone towards Dirk’s way. Instead of the bullet going through him, his body had created a shield around the bullet, causing it to slow down and not hit him. Dirk has another power he didn't know he even had, the toxic slime in him had caused an enhanced reflex instinct and put a shield up, sort of like an armor. Thankfully, no one had seen that but Jackson. Jackson gave him a wide eyed look in awe.

It looks like everyone was safe and sound, including Lily, thanks to the Cook of the dinner. Dirk and Jackson ran over to Lily, hugging her and asking her if she was okay. As people now were on their phones calling the police, and as was the Cook. People started to trickle out of the Diner, leaving the three of them and the kitchen staff in the Diner. Soon the Police had shown up and were now questioning people who were nearby when this all started. The Robber had been knocked out. Police had come in to talk to the staff, when they saw the three of them.

“You okay Miss? One of the civilians outside said you were the target of the crime?” Behind him they could see Police handcuffing the Robber and hauling him away, putting him in the back of a Police car.

“Yeah, I'm okay, just a bit shaken. My friends and I were just on our way out of here to go somewhere else for food, I will come back here another day. The poor Cook had been working hard and the food smelled delicious. He’s a friend of the family, a great guy.” Lily said with a half smile, as they could see she was tired from what just happened.

After they had left and they went to a nice barbeque restaurant, they had found a park nearby and were discussing why they had come up here. Lily looked at them with her beautiful brown eyes, her caramel colored skin, and her wavy blacky hair that went down to her shoulders. Her family had moved here when she was a little baby from Cambodia, and had been here ever since.

“What is this? Why do you have Billy’s writing on an envelope???” Lily now looks down at what Jackson had to give her. The letter had her name on it. She quickly opened it up and saw that it had been a list of things to get for a marriage proposal. He wanted to go to a fancy dinner, have a place that did champagne and planned on putting it in her drink when she came back from him sending her to flag down the waiter to order some dessert for after their meal. Using that as a distraction to put the ring in her drink. Lily had started to cry when she had found the engagement ring taped to the bottom of the paper. Not even Dirk and Jackson knew he was going to propose to her, so they were as shocked as she was.
