GANESH JI BIRTH STORY
Once Devi Parvati was alone in Kailash. Shivji went outside Kailash for tapasya and Kartikeya went to Southern Part of the world to save the people from demons.
So she want someone who will spent time with her. One day while she was going to take a bath ,she collected her dirty things from her body and placed all of the dirty particles near the river. She made a idol with those. Then after taking bath she surprisingly saw that the idol turned into a small child.
The baby called,"MAAAAAA"
and Parvati became so happy and hugged the child . He said,"You called me and I came MAA. I will always follow your rules and I will always be obedient."
Parvati said,"From Today the world will know you as Vinayak."
She called Nandi and others to meet Vinayak. They were also happy seeing him.
Vinayak said,"Maa , I am hungry. Please give me some food."
Parvati smiled and said," Dear Vinayak what will you like to eat ?"
Vinayak said," I will like to eat Laddoo."
Parvati smiled and said," Today Vinayak , Nandi , and all others will eat Laddoo .I will make with Laddoo with my own hands."
Parvati made Laddoos.
Vinayak took the Laddoos and make a special shape with it. He said,"Maa , see I have make this shape. I like this shape. How is this shape ?"
Parvati said,"This shape is very nice dear. You like this shape. So from today this shape of Laddoos will be known as Modak."
Parvati always had the fear in her mind that she will lose her son. So she went to Narayan in Vaikunth and said,"Brother Narayan, why always I have the fear to lose Vinayak I don't know. But can you give me a way to save him ?"
Narayan said,"Sister Parvati. Do a yagna and Puja ceremony to please me. Then I will give you a boon that I will be his protector forever."
Parvati thanked Narayan and came back to Kailash. She prepared all the foods and made garlands of flowers required for Puja.
Vinayak saw this and said,"Maa. What are you doing ?"
Parvati said,"I am doing a yagna ceremony for your safety."
Vinayak said,"This is the Puja of which god ?"
Parvati said,"This is the Puja to please Narayan."
Vinayak said,"But Narayan is your brother. Why are you doing yagna ceremony to please Narayan ?"
Parvati said,"Yes He is my brother , but today a mother is doing yagna for her son's safety. Today a sister is not pleasing her brother, Today a mother is pleasing the protector of her son."
Vinayak said,"But Ma , who is my father ? What is his name ?"
Parvati said,"Your father is the Lord of Three Worlds. He has many names - Shiv,Mahadev,Ashutosh , Bhairav and Bholenath.
Then Parvati said,"Son , Now I am going to do Vishnu Puja . Ensure that no one disturbs me."
Then Parvati gave a sword to Ganesh to protect himself and said,"From Today, the world will know you as Dandapani too."
And Parvati sat for Narayan Puja.
She chanted the mantra"OM NAMO BHAGWATE VASUDEVAY"....
Shiv returned to Kailash and asked Vinayak to let him go inside to meet Parvati. But Vinayak refused and said," No , Maa is doing Narayan Puja and she told me that no one should disturb her. I will not let anyone go inside. Be it my father too."
Nandi came and said,"Please don't say like this. He is KailashNath. You should let him go."
Lord Narayan came.Devi Lakshmi came. Brahmadev and Devi Saraswati came .
All the Devtas came and told Vinayak the same thing, but Vinayak listened to no one.
He fought with all the Devtas and he defeated them. This made Shiv angry. He took his Trident and beheaded Vinayak and Parvati heard "MAAAAAAA". Parvati came and became heartbroken.
She asked,"Who did this ? Nandi tell me. Brother Narayan please tell me."
Narayan said,"Vinayak had got the punishment for what he did."
Parvati said,"Death cannot be a punishment for a small child who still doesn't understand what is good or bad."
Then Parvati screamed,"I am giving last warning. Tell me who did this ?"
Then she got answer from no one.
Then she closed her eyes and was surprised to see that it is Mahadev's fault.
She became more heart-broken.
Her sorrow changed into her anger.
She said,"Today I am a mother and I am challenging you Mahadev and your Trident. Come fight with me. "
Mahadev said,"Gauri, You are my power, You are my Shakti. How can I fight with you ?"
But Parvati said," Today everyone will see the wrath of a mother."
Parvati changed into Mahakali. She said,"If this universe cannot return my son's life then I will destroy this universe."
Mahakali took a huge form and started destroying the universe.
She called Devi Kamakhya. Devi Kamakhya appeared from her body.
Seeing this Narayan became afraid. He said,"Parvati's anger has become uncontrollable. Please do something Mahadev."
Mahakali called Devi Ambika, Navadurga , Chamunda and all her forms.
Havoc wreaked on the three worlds including Brahmalok, Vaikunth and Kailash.
Mahadev appeared in front of Mahakali and said politely,"Calm down Kali. I will make Vinayak alive."
Kali said,"Ok. I am giving you one day time. If I do not get my son then Mahakali will go berserk."
She calmed down and all the Devi returned to Devi Mahakali's body.
Mahadev came back to Kailash and said to Narayan,"Narayan , You know what you have to do."
He smiled and replied,"Yes."
Narayan told Nandi that they will have to find a suitable animal who will give his own head with his own wish. They found an elephant.
The elephant said to Vishnuji,"Oh Lord Vishnu! I am a great devotee of Mahadev . Once I did a tapasya of Mahadev. He was pleased with me and asked what boon do I want from him. I replied that I want to stay with him forever. Then he replied that a day will come when he will need me and after that I will get what I want. It will be a great opportunity for me to give my head to Shivji and Mata Parvati's son. Only this is the way to calm Mahakali. "
Vishnu praised him and beheaded him with his SUDARSHAN CHAKRA.
Then they went to Kailash and Shiv fixed the elephant head in Vinayak's body.
Mahakali saw that the time which she gave become finished and she was going to start destroying the universe, at that time she heard"MAAAAAA".
Mahakali heard Vinayak' s voice and she calmed down. Parvati returned to Kailash and hugged Vinayak.
Parvati said,"Mahadev,why this elephant head?"
Mahadev smiled and said,"Parvati, any negativity comes then Vinayak will sense first because Elephants can do so."
Narayan said,"Yes Sister. From Today he will be known as VIGHNA-HARTA(the remover of Obstacles).
Vinayak apologised to Mahadev and to all others for what he did with them.
Devi Lakshmi and Devi Saraswati said,"In the world before doing any Puja or before doing any good work , one has to please Lord Vinayak. From Today he will be Known as Ganesh."
