THE RICH AND POOR(Chapter 1)
#WritcoStoryPrompt42
She chose her cleanest piece of clothing to wear. It was a festival afterall and she wanted to celebrate with everyone else. When she stepped into the street a speeding car drove by splashing dirty water on her.
A tear fell down her cheek. The poor had no right to celebrate as she had always thought. She could not hide the tears, she allowed it to flow. What else did she have to lose after all.
She swept out the mud stain with her hands cleaning her hands by clapping them and at the same time cleaning them.
AT the festival, she saw people of different kinds. The rich stayed under the canopies well decorated with tables in front of each of the wooden and expensive chairs. Their canopies labelled VIP. "Strange"she said out loud and she walked over to a very dirty looking young man and asked" Excuse me please what does VIP mean?" she saw him often and felt like he was not a stranger. My dear I was just asking myself the same question. You see as I was thinking about it, I was making up words like 'Vice In Red', 'Very Independent People'....... So I asked that rich idiot over there( pointing) and do you know what the bastard said?. She said softly wishing that he had not asked and she had not asked him in the first place "No". "He called me a mad poor thing, can you imagine( he was now shouting)". He sighed and said to her, "I should not have shouted as if it was your fault, I am sorry". He walked away showing that he was really angry.
She felt his pain and really wished she has not opened his wounds. She looked towards her canopy and saw that all the seats had been taken. She hissed and cursed the rich people because she knew it was their fault. None of the poor people liked the rich people. The rich were mean, harsh, they took the poor peoples and they had no mercy on them when they offended them.
Few years ago, the poor protested on the brutal killings the rich had vested upon them, many lost their lives in the process. The government tried thier best to restore peace but the rich were not willing to pay attention. After a lot of complaints, document signing, meetings and so on, the protests elapsed and the killings stopped but that didn't end the hatred between the two peoples.
