Family gatherings are always the jovial times in life that bring distant and close relatives together, especially during Christmas and Easter. In our village in the countryside, our favourite time of the year was during Christmas. Family gatherings were done in different homesteads, but our favourite place as cousins was Uncle Mario's mansion residence. It was an opulent and breathtaking home located near the big river that divided the East end the West ridges of the countryside. The family gatherings took two to three days, from Christmas night vigil to the boxing day. We enjoyed picking bluebells in Uncle Mario's extensive fields during the day.
The fields were full of clear meadows, hares, flowery bushes, shrubs, tall trees, orchards and verdant green grass. Sometimes girls avoided the game of picking bluebells and played volleyball in their underwears. We the boys would hide in the flowery bushes and peep at their naked bodies, only...
