Rebecca " the problem"
Rebecca was a rags-to-riches story. She went from a daughter of a single mom on welfare to the ate supreme court. She was a success story. How did she end up in jail facing a serious prison sentence?
Rebecca took a liking to education very early in her life. She impressed her teachers. She has an aptitude for learning new things. She took an interest in the law from an early age. Her teachers encouraged her to pursue education.
She went on a judicial tract from a young age. From junior high to high school graduation, her life was intentional. she did volunteer work. she worked for a lawyer doing maintenance and janitorial work. she focused on other focus.
She did not have much of a social life. she never got into trouble. she did not hang out with the wrong crowd. She never experimented with alcohol or drugs. She was a responsible driver after she got her license. She did not go to parties. She was very responsible.
She did not party at the college. She did not do so much as take a sip. she had a good reputation for being someone of good character and integrity. Everyone has kryptonite. Rebecca was no different.
After graduating from university, she was accepted into law school. She has already made it through several hurdles. She was halfway there. Her postgraduate life was very different from her college life. She joined different circles now. She was hanging out with the masters of the universe. They thought they were. They had. A culture all their own. This included drinking.
She was not for or against drinking. She had seen it as a potential detriment to her life tract. Things were different now. she had made it at least to this point. She let her hair down a bit. She immersed herself in the culture. She started to drink. She was a social drinker. She did not drink outside social functions..she was convinced that this was not a big deal.
She was still on a tract. she was still on a mission. We had goals she still needed to achieve. she did not abandon that mission. She knew driving could threaten that mission. She kept that in mind.
While at law school, she was stopped for d.u.i. She was cited. She pled no contest and paid a fine. A professor who once worked in the district attorney's office led strings and helped her. The record was expunged.
She graduated from law school first in her class. She was admitted to the bar. She was kept very busy. She was a junior partner in a law firm that consisted of just the senior partner. she worked with the lawyer she once did janitorial work for. He did mostly knuckleheads. She got his overflow cases. Many times she got cases from his reject list. He thought that they were duds. She needed the work so she took them. She was far too busy to go to parties or bars.
When she went to the district attorney's office, things changed. She was no longer a subsistence lawyer. There were a lot of social functions involved with being a district attorney. Many times after a long day in court, they went to a watering hole. She liked her alcohol.
This was well known. On occasion, the bartender cut her off. A bartender called a cab for her on occasion. There were times she had a designated driver with her. She sometimes took it a bit far.
She was married twice. Her first husband was a fellow assistant district attorney. They were both ambitious. They both looked at their alcohol. They dated for a time. They got married. They were both pretty busy. They were more like roommates.
She got pregnant and had a son. They tried to stick it out. He drank a lot. When she became pregnant with Dylan, he slowed down. She did not. Once Dylan was born, she resumed drinking. He objected to her behavior. She called him a hypocrite. He decided to leave her. They agreed to a divorce. He got custody of their son. He later remarried and had kids with his new wife. His new wife stayed at home.

She did not do anything about her drinking. She was cited for public intoxication. Her boss got it taken care of. She paid a fine. She met his second husband at a book club. He owned a rare book. store. He also sold insurance. He was a history nerd. He had a great sense of humor. He was funny. He was kind.
They went on a few dates. He promised not to commit any crimes. She appreciated that. He proposed and she said yes. They were married in a private ceremony. The administrative judge in the area presided.
She had two daughters. It was a loving marriage. He hated alcohol. He never had a drink in his life. He wanted prohibition reinstated. His favorite aunt died while driving intoxicated.
They argued over her drinking. She assured him that it was not an issue. he gave her an ultimatum. She left him. They too got divorced. It was amicable. She was convinced that it was not a problem. She was wrong. It would soon bite her in the but.
