I blinked as I regained consciousness. I had hit my head hard, or had someone hit me? Then I realised I was holding a bloody knife in my hand. Some enchanted force pushed me towards the smell of the stained knife. I tasted the thick red liquid. I tasted blood. What has happened to me? Am I dead, or did I reach a different realm. Why did I not feel filthy while tasting the dried red liquid on the knife. Why did I feel as if my thirst is quenched? Suddenly I saw a shadow passing me. Who is that? Is someone following me? And who is this person lying dead in front of me in this dark alley?
So many questions were wandering in my head, but as alert as I was, I started running towards the way the shadow went. I kept running, and I never felt so light n fast as I'm feeling today. Something has changed. I have changed. After running in flashes, I reached a lone wooden cabin, and when I looked inside through the window, I started getting my memory back.
Yes, right there in front of me across the window is my wife and children. The shadow was no one else but my little daughter who has just started hunting. She hunted the man down in the alley, and while trying to protect her, I got hit into the iron pole.
We are a happy family, a family of Vampires. It might sound creepy to the people who live in the crowded city as they have not left any space for us there, so we settled down in the woods.
For them we are no one else but monsters who feed on them. But, hunting them down is our way of survival and we don't regret it.
Yes, I am a vampire and now I remember everything!
