Chhath Puja (4 days festival)
It's not only a festival, it's an emotion. Chhath puja is associated with "worship of Nature", instills spiritual consciousness and inspires everyone towards conservation of the environment. It's a completely organic festival. Chhath Puja is a way to pay regards to the Sun, on which our life is depended. It gives us message to never forget our parents who put lot of efforts in our upbringing. Chhath Puja begins with "nahay khai", on this day we prepare "chawal, daal and kaddu" on mud stove. It symbolises our life begins with blessings of "Mother Earth" and reveals importance of "staple crop and salt" in our daily consumption. On the second day of Chhath puja, we offer "gud ki kheer, roti and banana" to "Goddess Chhathi". It inspires us to adopt "sweetness and good behaviour" in life. On the third day of Chhath puja, at the time of eve, we offer different types of seasonal fruits in "Bamboo Soop"to "Lord Surya". It gives us a message, God is here for everyone even for those poor who wait for the whole year to earn their livelihood. On the last day of Chhath puja after performing Usha arghya to "Rising Sun", tradition of "ghat pujan" teaches us to worship and pray for all those things which contributes in our life and tradition of "Prashad distribution" teaches us to contribute something to everyone as for as possible, tradition of "khoincha bharai" and "applying sindoor" on women's forehead indicates importance of "Married life".
