The Stolen Curse
Detective Alex scanned the long room looking for any visible evidence like footprints, or belongings of the thieves but nothing was in sight. The morning rays touched the floor shining on the empty glass case.
“Do you know when this happened?” asked Detective Alex.
“I don’t know, I don’t remember hearing anything ”the security guard answered nervously. The detective’s eyebrows tensed as she heard those words. But she kept calm and asked another question.
“What were you doing the night before?” She questioned.
“I can’t remember!” The security guard looked terrified as he understood what happened to him during the theft.
Detective Alex dismissed the security guard and went to the museum's owner. The chilly morning air seeped through her magenta coat as she walked on the red epoxy coating with her steps being the only things that were heard in the dark silent room. As she walked past other artifacts she noticed a specific window with a torn black cloth wriggling on it.“What is this,”murmured the detective. Detective Alex took out a ziplock bag and carefully used her hands to take out the piece of cloth. She placed it in and closed the back making sure she heard every click of it. She put it in her pocket and continued walking.
“Welcome Ms.Alex” spoke the museum owner rather enthusiastically.Anyone with the right mind would have noticed and known something was wrong but somehow no one in the museum did. There were only four people including the guard in the museum and no one seemed like they cared about a twelve million dollar diamond being stolen. This raised suspicion to Detective Alex about the owner who still had a glimmer of happiness in his eyes even though he seemed like he was trying very hard to hide it. The owner's face finally seemed to calm down and his face frowned and his eyes danced around not once crossing paths with Detective Alex. Detective Alex sat down on the fine velvet couch and then took out a plastic file case and stared at Mr.Robert ,the owner. And started to speak “Mr.Robert, I would like to search every inch of the museum. Please close the museum for 3 days of the week until we can find the culprit.” The owner’s face turned away in horror at what he just heard. Probably something he should have not done but he did.
“ Mr.Robert, I am one of the best detectives and I solved more than forty cases in only two years of working! And this is a twelve million dollars diamond we’re talking about, this is not something we can just dismiss.”...
