Writing Hacked 5- Plot Writing
Disclaimer: PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE PROCEEDING FURTHER!

I have no formal education in creative writing or literature whatsoever. I learned everything by myself through youtube, reading, research, understanding, and writing away as much as I can. I make a lot of mistakes whether it be grammatical or any other kind. I hope you can point them out and help me correct it so I can learn more. I will try my best to provide you errorless guidance though. I am not going to pretend to know everything because I really don't. I have a lot to discover yet.
Whatever I am going to tell you here is through my own understanding and experience.
Enjoy.

HOW TO WRITE A GOOD STORY

Please check out the previous post before proceeding further:
1. Stasis
2. The Trigger
3. Quest 4. Surprise
5. Critical choice

Now,

6. Climax

This is the main part of the story your readers have been waiting for. All the anticipation ends here and the protagonist finally faces the conflict.
It's a test to check whether your character will get what they want or not. Will they gain or lose? It's the highest peak of tension in the entire story. The real powers of antagonists are revealed here.
It could be a fight, a final performance, a game, a chase, a word to keep or lose a relationship and this will most likely end your fundamental journey here.
The climax is also a very sensitive part to write because every single thing in your story depends on it. The critical choice you have made has brought you here and now you give the test. It's the part where surprises can be put but in a really creative manner.

↪Examples:

⚠ SPOILERS AHEAD! If you have not read my story 'Garden Of Spiders' until now, go check it out in the story section. I will be using it in many examples since I have used very basic methods in it⚠

A) Christina discovers that she has made a rookie mistake and the killer is someone else. She is confronted with the accomplice and everything happens too quickly. Shots are fired and her quick thinking saves her. This is the point the mystery of the killer finally comes to an end.

B) Harry Potter fights with Lord Voldemort and tries to get his hands on the stone, winning over and saving his friends too.

C) Shiva battles with Bhallaladeva and kills him, save his mother, putting a complete end to his reign. Shiva gets his revenge and becomes a true king.

Imagine someone who has not studied for anything the entire year is entering the examination hall. The stakes are high. If they fail, they won't get promoted to the next class and will have to face the wrath of their parents. But suddenly, during exams, they keep getting the answers right because of some unknown powers and get an A in the test in the climax.

Wasn't so thrilling, was it? Seems wrong and unlikely. Because these kinds of things don't happen in real life and are hard to digest.
Miracles do happen in real life and you can also put them in your story but not where readers will feel cheated.

You have to be smart when you are writing a story. Don't assume that your readers are stupid. The majority of people might like it blindly but a clever writer will easily see through your mistakes. That's what critics are for. Try not to make a mistake of underestimating your audience. A good story isn't just a writing skill or telling things. Its soul lies in narration, plot, emotions, metaphors, philosophy, and logic.

The climax isn't the end of the story. It's the main part. There are things left unexplained yet.

In the next post, I will tell you the remaining two points, 7th Reversal, and 8th Resolution. Stay tuned!

🏵About Me:

Hello, My name is Samiksha Kemwal and I am a 20-year-old college-going student who loves stories soooooooo very much! Ever since I was a child, I loved listening to fairy tales and watching stories in any form. Soon, not just fairy tales, I began relishing any form of the genre. As I grew up, I began reading fiction. My love for novels kept on increasing and I would read anything that I could get my hands upon.
Now, I absolutely enjoy stories in any format.
Written, video games, series, dramas, movies, theatrical, etc. It doesn't have to be in my mother tongue (Hindi) or English.
I like watching international shows/movies too. Korean, Chinese, Japanese(animes too), Pakistani, Turkish, Spanish, Indian regional languages with subtitles.
And now I have decided to write.
It's my dream to write a good story and get it published.
So this me. Trying to reach my dreams step by step. And I would like to take you along with me 😉
