Bloody winter. part 17
(Disclaimer: Tigreb perspective)

Those memories had turned into dreaming; I had fallen asleep. It hadn't been too long when I heard my phone ring. I opened it in a second, but the one who had called wasn't who I was hoping for. It was Kale.

"Hello, darling. How are you doing? I heard you just arrived home, but I have to show you something. I'm sure you don't want to lose it. So hurry up; I don't want to bring you forcefully here. Go on, the car is waiting for you downstairs," Kale said and closed the phone call.
"Should I really go? I really have no nerves for him right now," I thought to myself, but I had to in one way or another. So I got up. Before opening the door, I called Max once again, but this time to let him know where I was going. Still, he didn't answer.
"That is a problem now, but I don't think he cares too much now. I'm not sure if he will ever contact me again," I thought to myself. Still, I sent him a message.
Just as Kale said, a car was waiting for me. Two men in the back showed me to the door. All the way there, I kept my eyes on my phone. That message I sent before was left unread.

After a while, the car stopped. We went outside. A modern mansion was once again before me. "These men are rich, and I have entered these big mansions a lot lately. Knowing all these situations, I wouldn't have admired things like this so much before. I used to be curious about the life here, but now I am only trying to get away," I said to myself and started following the man in a black costume.
We entered the wooden door, and then I followed him upstairs. The house had a modern decor; everything looked as if it hadn't been used before.

I saw Kale on one of the white couches. He got up as soon as he saw us coming.
"Miss H., here you are? Come on, sit, you must be tired," he said.
"May I know why I am here, sir?" I asked.
"You must be very curious. Don't worry, the surprise is on its way now. We just have to wait a little," he was laughing saying that, and that made me more suspicious. What the hell is he doing?

Someone served some tea, but I didn't drink a sip. I'm sure it must have turned cold the moment I heard steps coming this way. I raised my head. Kale got up, and I heard him say, "Max, old friend, you are here!"
"Max! Now, here?!"
