let it show... ch. 1 and 2
ch.1
Somewhere in Missouri is a small town that pretends to be bigger than it is. Housing more shops and autopart related services than necessary, lacking almost anything interesting for rambunctious teens to do that doesn't require money to spend.

But the library is open.

I'm John, my girlfriend is Ashley and the third and most Gothic friend is cheylo. It is 7:30 pm according to my phone, and we just left a domino's pizza after eating. And I feel like I should explain to you while on the curb with my group what we look like.

I'm a 19 year old guy, pale with brown messy hair and blue eyes, average height, I got a grey hoodie on with blue shorts and black nikes.

Ashley is an 18 year old girl, white with light brown long hair and blue eyes, a little shorter, she has a white sweater and blue jeans on with grey fur boots.

Cheylo is a 19 year old girl, native American with brown eyes and black hair, same size as Ashley, imagine a stereotypical goth minus the piercings aside from a septum and you have cheylo.

"Hear me out, I know you guys aren't super big on paranormal stuff but this is gonna be fun!" Cheylo interrupts my train of thought.

Ashley assures Cheylo that paranormal games are pretty dangerous and can effect all of us negatively.

"Remember your randonautica phase? You got stranded in an abandoned hotel with no ride out, was that fun?" Ashley reminds her

I wasn't there to help her but it still sounded stressful.

"Yeah chey, that didn't sound fun.. maybe we should tone down the scary stuff" I suggest. Cheylo rolls her eyes and chuckles. "It's like paranormal truth or dare, we play truth or dare with a demon. It's not as bad as you think guys" cheylo says and wraps her arms around me and Ashley

"Look at you typing away, what are you typing anyway??" Ashley asks and cheylo reads over my shoulder but I stop a second and shoo them away

"Just a little story, I'm gonna be a platform writer"

I say and finish typing my sentence.

"Well, if it keeps you from gaming all day it's good with me" Ashley jokes, cheylo fake scoffs and mentions her epic gamer status as well.

"I at least accept SCARY truth or dare, want to join, john?" Ashley asks

"It's gonna be fun homie!" cheylo adds. I roll my eyes and stand up, to follow them as they were behind me on the sidewalk.

"Truth or dare in a scary place sounds pretty exciting I guess, as long as nothing too freaky happens I'm in!" I say enthusiastically. This is a game we haven't tried before so it's new and exciting for me, though I have a feeling there's more to it that chey is hiding... but as of now if we get uncomfortable we can always change to regular truth or dare. Nothing could possibly be that bad when three friends can control all the dares and have chicken outs.

ch.2
Following the sidewalks in this town is relatively simple, it's just one straight shot away from the end of town to the beginning of town.

"Alright guys I think it'd be really cool to do this on the Bluffs! Wait until nine or so when it's darker" cheylo plans. It's June 19th and it gets dark around 8:40ish.

Just outside of town towards the middle is a big Cliffside that you can access from the sides. it looks somewhat like a small Mountain that somebody chopped the top off  of and in half. We Mosey our way near the center of town to give it as much time as possible for it to get dark.

"We should put a lock on the cliff fence some time" Ashley adds as we get close enough to see it.

Putting a lock on the fence was this towns version of a young elopement, though it was ment for married people to pay for locks to put up there, not a lot did. The time was now 8:41. Ashley talked to cheylo about her job at bread Co. While cheylo said that jobs were stupid and such. I work at a factory so out of a lack of interesting topics I stay out of the conversation and just listen to them. We approach the side of the bluff and trek our way up it instead of using the stairs next to us

"Man I feel old.. so tired.. already" I sigh jokingly as we reach the top.

"Why do we never use the stairs?" Ashley asks

"Probably for the sake of exercise? I dunno" cheylo shrugs and walks to the center.

"What are you guys planning on doing when you have enough money to afford a home?" Cheylo asks while sitting herself on the stone ground

We all sit in a triangle.

"Ummm... probably not stay in this town." Ashley answers pulling out her phone and gaming on it.

"We could be roommates!!" Cheylo exclaims excitedly.

"No.. as much as we will keep in touch me and probably Ashley want our own place.." I say, Ashley nods without looking away from her game "We are really looking forward to our own home." Ashley smiles

Cheylo looks down at the ground as if to center herself before continuing

"At least we will all keep in touch?" Cheylo remarks

"We need to get you a good job girl, how about at a gas station or ice cream corner?" Ashley tells her, I nod and add

"You need money to get away from your family you said you didn't like".

I get up and look around at the town, packed by the one big road next to a highway on the other side, like the egyptians by the Nile. There's a bit of odd simplicity to it that makes it worth staying a little bit, even if it is for the convenience of walking distance.

Ashley me and chey had a heart to heart about the effects of falling off the cliff until it became 9:00 pm.

At that moment, cheylo pulled out chalk and candles that she stashed at the site before getting us.

She proceeded to draw a triangle on the ground and put three candles on the corners

"The shape represents how many players, take your seats at the candles" cheylo mentioned

Me and Ashley sat at our candles and looked at each other nervously, but seeing as it's only shapes and not sigils I'm not terrified yet.

Cheylo takes her seat and lights our candles with a lighter from her pocket before lighting her own.

"Repeat IXIS TRUTH OR DARE IXIS three times" cheylo tells us, we are interested at this point and I prepare to say the words when cheylo starts.

Ashley clears her throat and gets prepared as well, albeit timidly...
