The Girl who spoke to the Mirror
She was like an angel- quite, calm and cold. However times changed her. Day by day situations became difficult, she faced many challenges. Life was unfair to her, it has always been to good people. She could no longer make friends or be in touch with earlier ones. People started hating her and made her feel disgusted about herself. She could rely on only one person, and that was her mother who gave her some unfamiliar medicines everyday. She smiled, but just with pain. Her eyes? Her eyes so full of sorrow and untold stories. Times made her weak, miserable and disastrous. She became blank in between conversations. She couldn't trust anyone, anymore. Nightmares about death and misery haunted her mind. She would talk to the mirror, because there was none who would listen to her.

One day, she met a gentleman. He wanted to be her friend. They would talk about books on dreams and fantasies. Stare at the night sky gleaming with shiny stars. Sing songs and dance in the rain. Things started becoming better. There was hope of some hue in the midst of all black and white. She found a friend, a silent love and hope in him. She started enjoying life. However, the only pain she had buried in her heart was not being able to confront her feelings to the man. One day, she finally planned to express all that she had in her heart for so long. She went to the mirror, he was there.
She was shy and clumsy, but said all that she wanted to. He listened, with all his patience and attention and finally said, " I can't be with you forever my dear. This is meant to be momentary. Your mother has had requested me to guide you. I did. And congratulations, you've almost recovered. She has paid the fees. I hope we shall meet soon, if things go fine. But for now I shall have to leave. Goodbye Miss Scotia". And he vanished in thin air. She looked for him, but there was nothing except the mirror.
The room that was so full of light in his presence, suddenly became dark. Everything seemed dull and haunted again. She broke.

After few hours, Mrs. Winston found her daughter lay unconscious on the floor. The mirror broken. Glass pieces all around. She held her daughter. She could see tears on her daughter's cold face. She held the numb daughter and said 'goodbye'.
