The Wolf (Chapter 3)
Nora bounded ahead to the front of the house and shifted. Sebastian and Sirena followed right behind her. Once inside, her father was already on the phone and Nora was lounging on the couch eating Sirena's leftover breakfast. One thing about Nora, she always got to the point. Her mother walked in and glanced at Sirena. "Nice job handling that human. It's about time someone did." Her voice emphasized on the word 'someone' as she glanced at her husband on the phone. "Wait, you already knew about him," She asked, shocked. "and it just so happened nobody mentioned it to me?" Her mother looked at her. "Well, yes. Other patrols have caught his scent but never actually took the time to get so close as you have." "Well thanks for the heads up," she muttered. Sebastian sat silent on the couch. She dug her feet in the fur carpet on the ground and sighed. "You guys should get ready for school," her father said as he hung up the phone. "But we can help with the human." Sebastian said. "We encountered him and Sirena got him off our path, if we need to, we can get him to see Nora again and have her lead him to a different spot." She looked at her father who looked as if he were actually considering it. "No. I already have a couple businessmen going up toward where he was and putting up that this is private property. If he's found on this land again, he will be charged as any other person." It actually seemed so simple and easy that she agreed. "Come on guys. The pack will be looking for us." "Can I drive this time?" Nora asked excitedly. "I wouldn't give you the keys even if my life depended on it," she said with a laugh. She walked out of the house and got into the Mercedes her dad had gotten for her once she got her drivers license. Sebastian got into the backseat while Nora got in the front. She wove in between cars on the way to school. Sebastian clutched the door handle as if he was ready to jump out of the car. "Can you please slow down at least?" He looked in her rearview mirror. "You act like I even know what slow is," she said with a mischievous grin. When they arrived, Sebastian got out as quickly as if his tail was on fire. Nora looked after him and Sirena saw the admiration in her eyes. "So when are you going to try and make a move" she asked her friend, inclining her head toward the disappeared male. "Why would somebody like him want to be with a someone like me?" Nora replied with a shake of her head. She got out of the car and proceeded to walk toward the front doors of Wakon High. Sirena watched her go and laid her head on the steering wheel. "That was the worst thing I could have said to her" she thought guilty. She got out of her car and walked in the path of her pack mates. She looked down and realized she was still wearing her patrol outfit. "Ugh." she thought to herself as some of the boys looked at her and whistled. Hurrying to her locker, she quickly grabbed her extra clothes for these purposes and bolted to the bathroom. As she turned the corner, she ran straight into a boulder knocking her to the floor. The first thing she noticed was that it wasn't a boulder, but another person with striking purple eyes. All of a sudden, the only thing she could hear was, "Mate."
