My red day.
It was 6am,a cold painful morning. My phone rang, while I was upside down on my bed. My legs were on the wall as I was screaming life outta my body... I was expecting a call but I couldn't find strength to pick up the phone beside me. I just couldn't change my position, this was the best position I assumed of over a hundred positions, this morning. I changed positions each minute as those hands clutched my lower abdomen.
My roommate wasn't in the room and I was choking with tears, so calling her won't help.
She came into the room after some minutes, my phone was still ringing. "He wouldn't stop calling" I thought to myself. He already saw my distress message. He was the type everyone would dream of. She picked up the call immediately she entered.
"Hello, Nifemie. It is Favvy."
I wasn't sure I heard the entire convo since my pains carried me to another level.
The next thing I noticed and felt was the cold touch of my phone on my ear, now I was kneeling on my bed... Nifemie wanted to speak with me.
His voice brought a temporary ease, the pain was overpowered by the butterflies in my belly. I couldn't stop falling for him, even after years of being together. I love him, the way he treats me like a queen this time of the month hits different. The pain resumed work and all I could do was give an "uhmn uhmn" reply.
He was coming over as soon as possible. I haven't eaten, I could not. I threw up more than three times overnight. I didn't even get PMS this time around, I could have prevented it.
I could remember the last time he came over when I had crazy cramps like this. He made breakfast and I vomited it on him. Baibyyyy was so cool, he made sure I cleaned up first before sorting himself... That's not the case now though. I don't have any relief and I have important classes.
To cut the story short, Nifemie came faster than I expected. He came with a plate of jollof rice and chicken. I couldn't resist taking food from his hands amidst his sweet calming talks. After the food, I used the pills he brought but that wasn't the real deal. He carried me with my legs clamped round his waist and the heat and fragrance emanating from him did wonders I drifted to sleep and he carried me gently back to my bed, covering me, he held my hands.
This was what I needed, a good sleep and reduced pain. I woke up after an hour feeling refreshed. I love Nifemie. All thanks to him, I can now go to my classes without struggling to stand. As I turned to give him an appreciative peck, I noticed I was alone in the room. Favvy and Nifemie... Where were they? The interiors of room was looking different. Is this a new way of cramps showing me shege?
My mum's voice jolted me out of my thoughts. She asked if I was feeling better now.
Likeeeee! Dude! There was no Favvy,no Nifemie, no hug, no period care package, no classes. I just can't seem to understand what was going on.
I needed to know what reality was. Then I knew it, I am here, in my room, drooling from imaginations.
