I fight a war that you don't know
A war that no matter what, I can't let go
There's this brave spirit I fight
Someone so full of love and light

I think the spirit's name is Hope
To me that spirit is some kind of rouge
To fight me Hope has no desire
And all I want is to see Hope burn in fire

I fight with Hope everyday
Somehow I loose my battles anyway
Hope smiles and says,"Everything is fair in Love and War",
And I question,"Aren't Wars supposed to be filled with blood and gore ?",
But Hope just smiles with twinkling eyes
Somehow Hope is there to hold me everytime a part of me dies

I don't know why Hope Loves me despite my every crime
I am just waiting on even Hope to leave me after some time
But Hope just keeps knocking on my door
I don't know why but that feeling makes my heart sore

But one day I opened that door, when the knocks stopped
As I realised even Hope had left me and my heart dropped
I felt the feeling of wanting to die
Had everything Hope ever told me a lie ?

As I sunk to the ground someone caught me in their arms
"I won't ever let you go", I heard as I finally succumbed into Hope's charms

Who am I you ask ?
Oh I am just Despair hiding in Anger's mask.
