THE WEASEL

He fell for her the moment he saw her at the restaurant. There was something about her that he couldn't quite wrap his head about. Maybe it was her mannerism, her demeanor, her appearance, you name it.When she passed near him later, accidentally brushing against him, Drew's senses tingled with excitement due to the sudden bodily contact and also because of catching a whiff of her heady scent.
Drew had been a photographer for about five years. He was well-known and many are the times he got gigs for occasions and even corporate events during his lucky day. He was at the Mursik grill and lodge doing a shoot for their social media. This shoot was very important since it would expose him to high profile clients and yet he couldn't concentrate on anything but her. He kept looking for her in the crowd but he couldn't find her.
"Bro, Kwani what's up?? Naona Leo akili yako haiko huku. Aki don't jinx this for us." Drew's associate and friend gently chided him. The scolding worked like magic because he was out his trance in no time.
The rest of the day was uneventful to him - he never saw the mysterious girl again. The shoot was a great success and as it is with all things, it came to an end and it was finally time to go home after a long days work.

Drew and his buddy Ken strode out of the hotel's lobby excitedly chattering and recounting the day's occurrences of them being near the high profile clients. On each of their hands, they carried their equipment and backpacks on their backs. They walked leisurely to the parking lot where they had parked Drew's old but highly efficient fielder which he had acquired from a friend's colleague after winning a photographer's contest.

" Should I give you a ride home?" Drew asked while opening the car's boot so as to put their equipment in it. Ken beamed in a way such that his whole countence changed. " Sheila and I are having a meet up today. It is our date night. So am heading out to our meetup spot right away. You could drop me."
Drew happily drove his friend to his date but he could not help but feel sad for himself. His love life was non-existent - it was not that he was horrifying to look at but he had no lack of love. He couldn't help but remember his mystery woman.
