Raley still had his hand extended towards her,she was still shaking not knowing what or who to believe.
At that moment her brain stopped working and she could only rely and her instincts...or in this case her best friend.
Mike stood up,and stood behind her,holding her elbow,he helped her shake hands with him.
Which seemed odd to Raley,but he didn't bother to say much about that. That wasn't why he came to meet her in the first place.
"Can I please talk with you outside?"he asked,but Riley was gone,she couldn't say anything,her tongue was tied, she stood there like a frozen statue.
"She's really busy,she has some stuff to do about the school site,perhaps at the close of school"Mike said.
"I've got practice"Raley said,Mike knew that his best friend would have to girl up,"what about you guys meet up"he said.
"Sure...if it's okay with her"
"It's definitely okay with Riley,infact she has the perfect place,don't you?"he asked her,but she stood there smiling goofily,stone cold. Mike rolled his eyes.
"Where?"Raley asked.
"Her parents own a bed and breakfast,it would be perfect,since Riley doesn't like to leave the house much. They have a little shop where you two can talk better, aren't I right?"Mike asked hitting her with his elbow.
"ow...Kay"she said,trying to cover up her pain,"so see you by six?"Raley asked,Mike looked over his shoulder at Riley,but she was frozen again. He hit his head again.
"Perfect"he said on her behalf and Riley could only smile akwardly.
"How well did I do?"she asked,and he passed her a hopeless glance,which made her hold the back of her neck.
The day went by quick,it was already three o'clock,and Riley had to get home,her dad rounded up stuff and was coming home tomorrow,so she wanted to get home early,and help out her mum,then probably grab a bite,then talk to Raley.
"Raley is coming over to my house..."she said under her breath,then the point sunk in. She had her panicked face.
"I have to clean up,and and..."
She stopped talking because Charlene walked by,but stopped to glance at her.
"My,you do have a way with words"she said mockingly.
"I won't be sleeping anytime soon, who knows the kind of nightmares I might have"A friend of Charlene Brittney Bangs said.
The weird thing was that she only had Bangs,that was her trade mark hair style.
"Haha,very funny"Mike said cutting them off,he was never scared to face off anybody.
"If I were you,I'd really have nightmares,the principal just called,he wants you in his office now,concerning that stunt you pulled off"Mike said,and Charlene pouted.
"This is not over!"she dramitcally said and walked away from Riley and Mark.
"I hope she won't get into too much trouble"Riley thought.
"You are too good to her"Mike said,but she brushed the idea.
"But I hope Mr Howard will go easy on her"
"Well...I may have lied about that"Mike said,"you are impossible"Riley said,and slammed her locker.
"Am surprised that you are not freaking out"Mike said
"Why would I freak out?"Riley asked,and he gave her THE look.
"So you plan on pretending you don't have a problem"Mike said,he couldn't believe her.
"What problem?"she asked pretending to be oblivious to what Mike was talking about.
"Fine,have it your way then"he said and they walked to the school's entrance gate.
Before they bade goodbye,Mike stopped her and held her shoulders a bit firmly.
"You can do this"he said.
"You're gonna mess this up"he muttered to himself.
"Like I was saying,you can pull this off"he said.
"She's gonna embarass herself"he muttered to himself again,but he kept on going.
"No matter what,I believe in the power of...".
He had nothing to say to her.
"Just don't mess it up Riley, but if it goes upside down and you freak out, then just wire me a call, alright?"he said and turned to leave,but an angry Charlene chased him around the school,"I'll kill you!"she yelled,and he ran about trying to get away from her.
They continued the chase,till they both crashed and landed on the new flowers to be planted.
Riley rushed to save her best friend,but he was underneath Charlene,and his eyes were on her,which freaked the marbles out of Riley.
But what confused her was that Charlene was on top of him,starting into his eyes,someone actually had to cough them into reality.
The principal arrived,and ordered them to clean their mess,then serve a week's detention and work the school cafeteria.
"Sorry"Riley said to her friend,but she just couldn't help smiling at his state,but of course she didn't like Charlene one bit.
"You're laughing now,but after what's gonna happen today,I'll be laughing for an enternity"he said while leaving to go catch up with Mari.
Riley looked at Charlene,she offered to help her pack her things,but Charlene declined.
"Just get away from me,it's all your fault,you caused all this"she blotted out,and walked out furious.
Riley shrugged,but kept her focus,getting home,and meeting him,she couldn't wait.

She and her mum had baked fresh cookies,which she placed downstairs in the shop.
She decided to sit and wait for him to show up.
"Six o'clock" she said under her breath
he would arrive any moment.
"You can do it,no regrets,you can..."she stopped talking,the little bell rang,the door opened.
